As someone who isn't camping literate in any way at all - love the way you break the product down!

I have had one for several years now and I love it. I was inspired to get one after seeing it in one of your older vidoes. I call it my 1950's ufo.

Had one for a few years now and it gets plenty of use. Versatile and great lighting option. Admittedly I now use a star picket for the base and success 100% of the time!

love the light, owned one for many years. you cant buy the fibreglass pole either when your misses snaps it in half shutting it in the tailgate of the Hilux. keep the vids coming great job!

That light was pretty Intents!! Good thing its comes with a dimmer. Every though of mounting it on a rope strung across camp?

Interesting light. Not sure we have a use for ine but I can see how it would work for many people.

I hope you have heaps pf personal equipment to review for content 😊 I wonder if you’ll branch out to host random guests and “help” review things on their behalf - take their experience and knowledge of a product and translate it into your format to kindof get them to review the product “through you”. Great to see you onscreen again Alex.

Yeah this was a hefty consideration when planning this! Initially (and at points through the future) I'm doing exactly what you described and I've shot a few that way with Harry. Further down the line I'll seek sponsorship for NON review content, youtube membership, and use ad revenue to invest into gear for review :)

I'm looking at the American Devos Light Ranger but seems bloody expensive. Can you find any suitable knock offs ?

If you take a hammer drill with you try drilling into the ground with a masonry bit slightly smaller first . That's what i use when using the different brand screw in tent pegs.
@DamoLawrieАй бұрын
Dammit! Now I want one. Pity the pole can't be purchased separately if you broke it. But I'm sure there'd be plenty of alternative ways to mount that, diy stakes similar to the original but maybe more heavy duty for example. Like a previously mentioned idea of taking hammer drill and masonry bit for rocky ground and pre drill your hole. Done that plenty for tent pegs

With the dimmer dump a bunch of resin to water proof it
@jasonwooler801Ай бұрын
I got that one too. I love it

Your hammer assistant is handy, should keep him around
@Camping_reviewsАй бұрын
Gotta keep him busy! If he's not hammering pegs he'll just be hammering your beer fridge instead.

Thinking that a beach rod poly pipe holder would work in sandy areas...

Not to be that guy but when do you really want a fiddly wobbly streetlamp while you're camping?
@GTRAIN1982Ай бұрын
I found trimming a pool noodle down steadies the pole even more

Have you thought about trying a large ground steak hammered in the ground and attaching a small pipe or pvc using hose clamps. May work better for harder ground. Id like one, but the dirt in Arizona is hard and rocky.
@Camping_reviewsАй бұрын
That's a pretty good idea. Do the screw type pegs work in Arizona soil? I wonder if one of them could be adapted.
@georgemajuta3596Ай бұрын
I'm not sure, I've never used them. I've used drill in stakes that work well. And anything thick enough not to bend when it gets hit 100 times with a hammer. Thanks for the video. I'm going to try the light, it seems pretty cool.
