@@Mr_Leo_DS I know but he doesn't need to be in the rock and roll hall of fame to prove he is good. All these awards and such are a waste of time. John Lydon once said award ceremonies were a waste of time and when he won a Q award he was asked by a woman interviewing him if he felt different now he'd won an award and he replied are you being ridiculous. If it's a public vote it's different but when it's just people in the music business saying you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours it's pointless.

I was at Randy's last show in Knoxville, TN in 1982. I was just a stupid high school kid at the time, but I knew I was witnessing a beyond incredible talent in that arena. Randy was killed the next day in the now infamous plane crash. I feel incredibly fortunate to have seen him live. I also feel incredibly sad as I often wonder what might have been. Peace.

It is obvious how amazing Randy Rhodes guitar work is on this track. But what often gets overlooked is how brilliant that Ozzy is as a lyricist. People often make fun of Ozzy and his incoherent manner of speaking, but if you really take time to read the lyrics that he's written through the years you can truly appreciate the depth and genius of his work as a song writer and poet. That aspect of his talent, in my opinion, has been grossly overlooked.

Of course, almost every song of the Randy albums can leave an impression on you. I would say the entire albums are what made him a legend; just a monster guitarist and writer. And he preferred just to be a guitar teacher than a rock star. Fact: He was going back to being a classical guitar student at a music college so that he would be an even better player and a teacher. He loved teaching the guitar.
