I went there this year. It’s epic. First you see that giant cheese wheel absolutely flying down the hill like a giant canonball and bouncing like 5 metres into the air and then you see people rolling down in a very similar fashion and at not much lower speeds. It’s an amazing sight.

I was talking to a friend a couple of months ago about how our home county - Gloucestershire - has the cheese rolling championship, the shin kicking championship, and it only lacks one other mental sport from being the barmiest triathlon in the world. My suggestion: there is a road to nowhere in my town, about 400m long, and wondered if the final event should be a blindfolded sprint from one end to the other, give it a catchy title, and watch the mayhem unfold. Call the whole thing the Fruitcake Triathlon with the slogan 'welcome to Gloucestershire'.

This has been going on since the Saxons, it’s a fantastic festival! The cheese race is obviously the best part but you can come to buy some lovely cheese, drink some beer from the local brewers and visit the local market. Really recommend!

I've climbed this hill and walked (fell) back down it. It's that steep that going up is easier on all 4. What the video doesn't show to well it how uneven and rough the slope is. The though of trying to chase a Gloucester cheese down this is mad. Great to see it's back and kudos to those crazy enough to throw themselves down the hill.
