Joe & Gift I’ve been following y’all for quite sometime now and wanted to make a suggestion on your home build if I may not intended to be invasive. Make sure if you don’t already have in place a gutter system off the back of the house to prevent drainage from your roof into your pool. This would result in a constant battle to keep your pool within the chemical guidelines. Love you guys, Jeff

I love the location. I love the house and I think it will be superb. The only thing I’d say is have a think about the TV area. I work in Property. Actually in the financial side so its only my opinion. My comments are coming from a good place and even if you leave the house as it is its going to be epic. I know you mentioned that you will have an inside / outside lifestyle but the living area, in my opinion is a little tight. I know there will be a cost but if you can knock the wall and reduce the bedroom 1 metre it will make a massive difference. You sleep 6-7 hours a day and awake for the rest. I think take a little bite of the bedroom and add to the living area. It wont be that expensive now to do. If you have thought even a little bit when looking at the tv area, oh might be tight, then give yourself a metre. Cheaper to fix now. Put a sofa in and then it will really look tight. Just a comment and suggestion. Really happy for you two guys and love the build

Gift’s name is spelled “Gift” by her family and friends as well. Her Aunt and uncle who speak English very well, gave Gift her nickname when she was a very young lady. Gift was very ill as a child and the doctors were not sure if she would live beyond childhood. Her aunt gave her the name to represent “the gift of life”. All the best!

I don't understand how the builders can legally walk off the job just because the price of materials have increased. Surely this is the risk builders take when the contract is signed. Would they be giving you a refund if the price of materials went down? I don't think so.

I’m not sure of the specifics, as I said this is only what I’ve been told. I pay my builder in phases, once one phase of the build is complete I pay for the next phase. So I’m assuming if I and the builder didn’t see eye to eye, I could find another contractor to complete the job. If the price of the material goes up for the next phase of the build, I’m assuming the builder could request more money in order to complete the job. All the best!
