I made such seatbelts in a Spitfire model, what a nervewrecking job to put the buckles and clips on the belt material! But the end result is fabulous.

David, my modeler brother uses wire-wound strings from bass guitars as oxygen hoses and heavy power cables (he does a lot of sci-fi modeling). They are just like your hand-made oxygen hose, but pre-made! I bet any music store would have partial strings laying about :)

Great video as always! One tip for doing seat belts; it's a lot easier to thread the fabric through the buckles if they are still on the PE fret. :) learned that one the hard way.

have you ever heard of vallejo plastic putty , it's acrylic and come's of with a cotton bud dipped in water , much easier . and I love your work , your a very talented modeller .

I built primarily Taniya models in the late 70's through the early 80's as a boy. The quality compared to many other brands was exceptional and I can't remember ever getting a bad cast part maybe the quality control was better then, however molds wear out maybe the mold was at the end of its life.

Wow - those seat belts are labor intensive. The next kit will just give you thread and you will knit them yourself.

I've had a kit from Tamiya with a defective part; the mold didn't fill completely. Have you had this problem with them before? Thanks for the great videos.

Yes, sometimes it happens. You can write an email to a manufacturer, and they will send you correct part for free. Or you can complain to the dealer. It's a big nuisance, but sometimes you can not repair damage part.

The lead wire you can buy in any fishing shop. Hi, David. May I ask how you maintain the point on your high finish brush when cleaning? I have the other Tamiya fine brushes (wood handle ones) and they seem to lose their point when cleaning them. Cheers :)

I clean brush with soap and water. When it dries, I use a little of vaseline.

How long do you leave the putty to dry before sanding it? I leave it overnight but it sometimes doesn't fully fill the gap.

Gahlok12 No fucking shit, the F-14 is a 4th generation jet fighter that entered service during the early 1970's, while the Spitfire is a piston powered fighter aircraft that entered service during the 1930's.

You can try modelling websites, dependent one where you live. In the UK eModels, and Model Hobbies are two websites I use, international I use dersockelshop. Otherwise try find a local hobby store, its best to support these as this hobby is not the easiest to make a living from. Thanks
