This is a VERY nice little EDC knife for normal day to day cutting tasks for someone out in the country. Really well thought out all the way around, but what I truly appreciate is the EXTRA thought that went into the sheath. Most people have the sheath as nothing more than an afterthought. I will say this though, I don't understand having the ferro rod sealed up and not in the handle with the tinder quicks. For "ME", I'd rather not have to open that sealed bag, just to get to my ferro rod, and if the issue is space, I'd rather have two tinder quicks and make room for the ferro rod. If you can't get a fire going with two tinder quicks, you're not getting one started with four. Also, why the Kevlar cord, if the handle already has cordage on it? Again, for "ME" I'd rather have 30 feet of thinner 20 pound test BRAIDED fishing line, three #8 fishhooks, three split shot sinkers, maybe a couple safety pins, a needle, and just one of those mini glow sticks, which are impressively bright. I just don't see the need for a scalpel blade if you have a needle to dig out a splinter, and one glow stick in case the flashlight is dead, and those flashlights are my favorite too. Since you have a sealed bag, and if you really wanted to set your kit apart from all the rest, add these two things, some of those Berkley Crappie Nibbles bait. I add those to EVERY fishing kit, and here in Louisiana with more water than dry land, I always have a small pocket fishing kit on me. I love to just stop and pull out a line hook and bait and see what happens for an hour or so and just enjoy the outdoors. Then add a small perfume sample vial with bug juice in it or just leave it empty for the end user to fill, but then you can't put it in that sealed bag. Those vials hold enough bug juice to get you through one night of unexpected stay in the bush, and in most cases, bug juice is more of a life saver than water....at least for one night. Maybe make something like this as a kit "C" option??? The cost difference is very small at best after doing a quick online search, with the hooks around $0.18 for three, split shot $0.13 for three, and 30 feet of braided fishing line $0.47, six Berkley Crappie Nibbles bait $0.10, two safety pins $0.10, sewing needle $0.05, perfume vial with bug juice $0.25, and now more of the bases are covered here, and it will fit in that small tin, because I've done it minus the glow stick, but I know I can fit one of those in there too and I am now that I've seen how bright they are. Besides, we all know a survival kit just isn't a survival kit without a fishing kit...at least from a marketing point of view, but what the hell do I know....lol Keep up the great work.
