The leftover parts rage was hilarious and warranted 😂 Definitely more of a brick like its sibling the TR-1 Hazel Rah II than something poseable, but still a rad design. Nice of Bandai to include some bases to hold up the extra weight on the shoulders!

I mean, the HG TR-1 Hazel Rah Second Form at least has balanced weight distribution and doesn't feel nearly as bad to pose at all. And yes, while there are stands to hold the shoulders up, they're still not a perfect solution as they're still at the mercy of the shoulder's weight. I don't believe there's any perfect fix for that unfortunately, not unless they redo the shoulder joints completely

I don't care that they didn't update this kit like they did the Rick Dias. However, the way they went about fixing the guaranteed issues the GAU would bring about is like sticking on a half-sticky plaster. And like you said, they completely avoided using the new Hrududu II binders from wanting to make do with the stuff they already have, and rework the mold for the original ones. This is just such a lazy release that's not worth high-end MG money.

its not even like we actually need them to make all the of the full cowl. they just need to make the bottom booster, the shield w/ mask, and weapons, and then they can slap it on the dark scheme dantalion to make it completely different. even it's base gunblade can be dual wielded in canon, so we can mix and match it with the previous release without left overs or unecessary duplicates.

I love the TR-5 Hrairoo design. One of my most favorite. I was excited when they announced this kit, but I knew from the get go that no matter what, that old kit was gonna be trouble. It'll probably be one of my most dedicated projects whenever I get around to it, but for now, into the backlog

I mean, the old kit is decent even by today's standards (despite what the skeleton thinks). It's just not made to withstand THIS much weight, and the way they decided to support them doesn't work at all and restricts posing options fully

The extra parts are good for custom builders, sure. But good luck finding the polycaps to make them work. Granted, you can use them to make half the TR-1 parts usable, but still, these older polycaps aren't the easiest things to find left over.

I personally don't much care they didn't do a full revive of the kit. Hell, even if they'd given it the HG Rick Dias treatment, it still won't rustle my feathers as the old mold did what it needed to for the Gaplant. However, the fact that they decided to not address the inevitable weight issues at the core (i.e. fortifying the shoulders) is what ruins this kit for me. The core unit is fine, like I've said in the end; it's just the Gigantic Arms and huge number of irrelevant leftovers that makes this package problematic for everyone.

I'm glad you like the outrage bit. It would take me a lot more to actually tip me over the edge IRL, but I'm glad you like it. Out of the kits in the HG AoZ series, the ones with the least amount of leftovers would of course be the root kits like the GM Quel, TR-1 Hazel Custom/Hazel II, TR-5 Hrairoo, and TR-6 Woundwort.

the frustration is real. i avoided it because its just too expensive so i only got the titans colour one to replace the old tr-5 that i gave away to my brother (which also come with all parts to turn it into tr-5 hrairoo). and yes the soft kps makes the shoulder joint flex too much i just glued the halves together

I think this is the first time I've seen MJ get this angry about specific leftover parts that are a whole bunch of left over parts but none of them are useful for the main kit...... Either we're gonna die or he's gonna go full Hulk and destroy everyone lol. In the end it looks nice for a display but I don't really think of anything more positive to say about it other than the fact that at least it looks cool as a plane. Great job!

It's a bit, so I didn't actually feel angry while recording that. The frustration is real though, with all of those parts left over that are completely irrelevant to the TR-5, as opposed to the TR-1 Gigantic Arms where at least there's some relevance to the parts included. Sure, this kit is a display piece, but there's nothing else that's good about this version. Just get the original or the purple one if you want a TR-5.

Hate to be that guy, but slander might not be the word I'd use in this situation as it's literally a serious crime. However, your purchase decision is 100% justified. Either wait for this full package to be bootlegged (hopefully with better runner layout), or just buy one of the other ones if you don't care for the GAU/new face.

I get the feeling I'd be better off with the actual Psycho Gundam HG or the other larger suits like Baund Doc and Destroy Gundam over this kit since the large arms really don't seem to work with smaller kits

The Psycho Gundam HG is a bit of a dated build, but it’s great value for the price since you get such a huge kit. And if you really feel like it, the Gigantic Arms from both this and the Hazel GAU are compatible with it, so you could give it more posable arms at the cost of the transformation. Also if you can get the Psycho GM off of P-Bandai at its MSRP, I’d grab that because it comes with the GM head and still includes all the Psycho Gundam runners, stickers, and a PS faux polycap so you can assemble the Psycho Gundam in red if you prefer the Gundam head.

If you lower the extra parts and reinforce the shoulders, lower the price and- You have a re-release that's pretty good, I think the limited articulation in the waist and legs make for a good base for the Gigantic Arm unit, meaning all that you would to make the base more solid. Is REINFORCED SHOULDERS! Which they clearly haven't done. We could've gotten something similar to the HG Rick Dias, where the base kit was softly updated, but like EVERY Titans model. If it ain't the Gundam MK-II or related or if it ain't related to AoZ directly. You're just out of luck... I would one day love to see my favorite Titan MS, the Gabthley get something! But my space grasshopper is forever stuck with an outdated, toothpick using HG.

I really didn't much care that the base kit didn't get a significant update, it's good enough for what it is. However, they really should've reinforced the shoulders and engineered new Shield Boosters for this version in particular. Not only would that have made the issues easier to deal with, but also gave them standalone Shield Booster molds they can abuse to their hearts content. I really cannot recommend that anyone get this besides if the looks really interest you or looking for parts fodder

they molded a new left fist (which is completely unnecessary) but didnt bother making a new right trigger hand that could hold the rifle better. i had to mod mine by extending the wrist peg at an angle so it can properly tuck the rifle under its armpits
