Cheers. The area is still a little quiet. A few tourists have come back but there aren’t many flights available. I was in Tequilaria/Cantina last night. Live music and good fun. The old girly style bars are all still closed and not allowed to operate until we drop another alert level.

Great update on my second home!Before the pandemic,that was my yearly home since 1998.Not much for the bar scenes,mostly ten days of mall walking and great foods.Also convenient location close to the Green Belt and Global City.Tried couple of times staying @ BGC,but damn expensive!Tanx for the update and looking forward for more vids.Am subbing to your channel.

Thanks. BGC has become very popular in recent months because the Mayor there is quite relaxing regarding the bar scene. The Makati Mayor is really hitting the resto bars hard here. Closed 3 more down last week after the Alert level was raised. Poblacion is like a ghost town again.

Yeah, the irony of this “pandemic” ! You can bet those gov’t officials got paid big time to implement those mandates. I’m in California, same thing here, bars were targeted. Yet places like big name brand stores were packed, with pretty much regular business hours, and that was okay. @4:35 “…yan, party party… wala nang social diSTANCing… nako…mga foreigner…!!” That snitch of a journalist was hilarious! The media for sure is complicit. Glad to see some business owners, and people, tried not to comply, good for them for standing up to the tryanny. Cheers. They just went backwards. Alert level raised again. 3 bars got hit with closure orders from the town hall. Other bars remaining closed voluntarily and the area is a ghost town. BGC and AC are super busy though

I read the Amsterdam government tourist department also said they want to refresh and only want tourists that visit Amsterdam to drink wine and visit museums🙄 no understanding that many people go to museums during the day and party at night. You can do both. And if they limit themselves to people that only do that, their tourism will only recover by a few %

It very much depends on the Mayor. The mayor in Taguig (BGC) is quite relaxed re nightlife and everyone is going there now. There are some options in Panay/Malate. AC is relaxed as well. But our local Mayor here doesn’t seem to like bars and/or is trying to gentrify the area. Poblacion has been hit hard

Thanks. Omicron has raised the Alert level here (again)and we’ve taken 5 steps back 🤬. When? Is just guess work. I would like to visit family in Europe towards Q3 this year and I’m not confident at all that will happen. My situation is I can leave Philippines anytime I want but I can’t get back in. So I’m sitting tight.

@@NicandPaddyVlog I think, as long as Govt. ensures high vaccination rate, it could follow Thailand and open conditionally. I booked Thailand flight in April, then govt. announced 10 day quarantine - my vacation was only 12 days! However, largely due to Omnicron not being severe to the vaccinated, they have reverted back to limited quarantine. Good luck for later in the years:)

The place with the street food and music is still there but half as many stalls and it’s much quieter. The entire (building) block at A venue including SM supermarket is completely closed awaiting redevelopment.

I was just there a couple of weeks in Makati and BGC. Makati and Poblacion are actually quite good now. Not too crowded and still enough places open, some also late. Of course P. Burgos is not back to what it used to be before pandemic but still almost ok soon. BGC is way too crowded during weekends.

I went out in Poblacion last week. The place was buzzing. It’s more Filipinos than tourists in that area. I will make an updated video of p.Burgos and a separate for the Poblacion nightlife. But yea, P.Burgos is on the road to recovery.

@@NicandPaddyVlog Yeah please make more videos, always fun to watch. I liked the vibe there and me I like more partying with locals than foreigners. We were also walking there at night in Poblacion. They said it is safe now because of the president. Don't know if that is the reason but it felt quite safe. I have before been avoiding walking those quite dark streets alone. Maybe it is even more livelier when I should be back there in May.

Yea, it’s pretty safe walking around there. Just try not look like a tourist that has just got off a plane as they tend to get the most attention as it’s very overwhelming for them, especially if they have jet lag

Thanks. Yep these magic masks have to be on nearly all the time apart from eating, drinking and pool. Worn in gyms. Even if you’re on a motorbike. They had/have a rule if two people in a car, you have to wear masks, even if you’re married. It was enforced for a while but more relaxed on the car rule now.

Very good. I was there not that long ago. Not too busy and you can enjoy the beaches without any major crowds and often the beaches are deserted. But busy enough to have an atmosphere and a good social life while there. It might get a little busier now because the popular spots of Cebu, Siargo, and Bohol are severely effected from that last typhoon

Very much depends. Some are owned by very wealthy Filipinos that don’t care if they aren’t getting rent. There are definitely deals at the moment but it varies so much. I’ve seen 4K usd a month for a tiny bar to 5k for a huge place (both good locations and in early 2021)but the closer we get to opening up to tourists, the harder it will be to negotiate a good price. Also, when a bar or shop closes here they strip everything out and make a real mess. So any bar taken on will require quite a lot $ to refurb.

There’s no curfew now but bars in that area aren’t allowed in the current Alert level 3. On February 1, we are moving to AL 2 which is very much more relaxed. And yes, tourists will be allowed on February 10. I’m just back for ANgeles city and it was very very quiet, but fun. I made a video but was quite tipsy at the time and have very little memory of making it😄 hopefully I can edit some type of presentable video and upload it in the next day or two.
