P. Diddy Slams Feds for ‘Lying’ About Jail Cell Search

Following a raid at Metropolitan Detention Center in October, attorneys for Sean “Diddy” Combs, who’s currently housed there awaiting trial, wanted further proof that Combs wasn’t the target of the search. They now say sworn statements from an assistant US attorney and an investigator prove that the government is acting in bad faith. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber has the latest.

The prosecutors and BOP may have just blown this case. I'm in no way a Diddy fan but prosecutors will go to any lengths to get their man or woman. In the case of Diddy they had an open and shut case, but I wont be surprised now if Diddy at minimum gets Bail and delays court for a long stretch of time. Despite what some people believe, even in jail he still has rights. You have to remember he hasn't been prosecuted yet.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course the defense is going to take this angle. There’s a couple of big issues with this claim. First, Diddy constantly violated the jail rules. Lastly, Diddy’s defense team did tamper with evidence and wrote legal on documents and presented it to the court to get the prosecutor in trouble. However, the defense tactics were miscalculated because photos beforehand showed “ legal “ wasn’t written on the documents prior to. Thus- how did legal all of a sudden appear on the documents? The judge ripped into the defense for this.

The preserved right to privacy is small while someone is incarcerated. With anyone cell tossing for contraband does not seem to constitute targeting, calls are monitored. All these things most do not have the money to protest as aggressively as this man’s privilege allows.

Aside from potential misconduct regarding legal communications, the search of a cell for any reason is constitutional. Inmates don't have any expectation of privacy in a cell.

I've never been in a county jail or prison that wasn't a huge health hazard. I would also like to see a more significant commitment to rehabilitation for nonviolent offenders and certain violent ones.

Was the word "legal" written on it.. or is it how the most common school notebook literally usually says "legal ruled" on them. Thats exactly what i pictured. They shouldnt have given pictures to prosecution but prisons and jails have random searches. If they were searching everyday or even every week tossing his cell then there would be a problem and there would be an actual reason to stomp their feet. The report even said there wasnt a tip or anything it was a routine random cell search. The c.o's need to be safe... I've had personal experience with both honest and honorable as well and unethical and dispicable prosecutors in my lifetime, my civil rights preserved and violated. I hope these prosecutors are held to the highest standards of US federal due process
