Yeah its important to understand that Dinwiddie needs to be a spot up shooter, I dont want him even attempting a dribble drive anymore. If he has an open look he needs to take it. Hardy, Luka and Kyrie and PJ are the only dudes you can rely on each game to take to the hoop and score.

Dinwiddie brings variety of threes and driving dunks. You must have either forgotten or didn't pay attention to his versatility and confidence when given the green light. @@spooky-mulder He is not the same player. The Threes he does hit are wide open looks, and his drive attempts are not falling at all. The only guys who are successfully driving the lane are Naji, Luka, PJ, Hardy and Ky. Everyone else is a spot up shooter right now. This is why Kidd is playing Naji and Hardy a ton of minutes, they force the issue and force the other team to collapse or foul them. I would argue that you could move Spencer to a Wing position, which is what I thought they would have done from the outset. He is no longer a guy you want handling the ball, that sort of athleticism has passed him by. He is absolutely ok to play the 3 or even the 4 in small ball situations. The guys who should be handling the ball are Luka, Naji, Ky or Hardy. Everyone else needs to be playing off ball. Dinwiddie can absolutely be helpful, but its not as a ball handler. Our offensive splits have been horrendous when he handles the point so far this year.

The guy still hits contested three pointers not just against okc but over Jokic vs Denver. Basketball is about rhythm and continuity. Compare his usage rate to Luka's usage rate. About a year ago when Spencer was with Brooklyn and came to Dallas--he dropped 25 points including threes over Doncic and dunks over Doncic and Williams. Why? He had a higher usage rate and was given the green light with the ball in his hands. That ability doesn't evaporate in less than a year. He plays way less minutes and more than that a fraction of the usage rate he had with BKN and his last stint with Dallas. Do the same thing to the Don Luka Doncic in terms of a fraction of his current usage rate and he'll average 4ppg and am even lower shooting %. Ball has energy bro. There are too many wings and sharing the wealth in minutes is going to continue ineffeciency/no real productivity off the bench. They need to stick to Dinwiddie and Grimes, and allow Spencer the green light.

@@spooky-mulder 90% of Dinwiddies shots are Catch and Shoot points. He is not a productive PG anymore, anytime we use him our efficiency is garbage, which is why they made the switch to Hardy, and since then we have won two straight. Dinwiddie is 6'6, he can be useful in other positions like the 3 or the 4 in todays NBA where forwards are shorter than they use to be. If Grimes and Dinwiddie are shooting off what is created for them, then fine. But Dinwiddie 's FG% 5ft from the goal is atrocious this year. If Spencer is played above Hardy in a PG role the losses will continue to pile up, Spencer does not play within the flow of the offense. He is too busy trying to create his own shot that he wont make, versus getting it to the guys who can actually make the contested shot 5 feet from the goal. He is doing what Hardy did at the beginning of last year that damn near made him unplayable. If Dinwiddie is playing the 3 or 4, he would still be athletic enough to get to the hoop, but at the 1 or 2 dudes are going to continue to pick his pocket cuz hes too slow. Klay is having the same issues.

@@beastscale1892 His facilitating, ability to push the ball is unmatched compared to them, and Kidd gave Grimes and Dinwiddie shots and it resulted in losses. At the end of the day its about winning, and Hardy playing over 20 minutes in the past two games has resulted in back to back wins, one being against the best team in the West. Not to mention his defense has vastly improved, his steal last night sealed the game. And maybe if you stopped F'n with his minutes and played him consistently and stopped making him feel his career is at stake every other game, the Kid might turn it around.

@@Kelbonobo Hardy by far is the better facilitator and dribble drive guy, which we are lacking without Kyrie and Luka on the court. Dinwiddie and Grimes had their chance and it resulted in a pile of losses. Every game Hardy has played over 20 minutes has been a win for the Mavs. The smoking cuban wrote an article today and basically said for Kidd to stop Fn around and make Hardy the 6th man. Unfortunately for you as long as we keep winning, Hardy will be playing 20 minutes a night. But then again winning is the goal. If He stops playing Hardy and we start to lose again, I will be questioning Kidds sanity. The Dinwiddie/Klay and Grimes rotation is an epic fail.

Can we please stop screwing around and reduce Klays minutes and give it to Hardy and Grimes. The dude has played in almost 11 games and proved he doesnt have it anymore. We can play him just for the sake of playing him anymore, not if we are serious about the playoffs. He can come off the bench with Dinwiddie, and Grimes. Move Hardy into the starting lineup. At least he is consistent.

Klay starts seasons slow(even in Golden State) so that's also in his MO and he is learning a new team's scheme as well. Too early to judge as he has had multiple 5-6 three pointers dropped for Dallas in games this season.

His poor defense damn near cost us the game too, dudes were rotating in hopes of drawing one on one with Klay. His defense is so bad it makes Luka look like NBA 1st team defense. This is Klays worst season of his career in regards to shooting clips. When Hardy or Grimes went in for him, it was a night and day difference for the team. You could partially blame these losses on Klay playing like Garbage on both sides of the ball. He is shooting 35% from 3 this year which is barely a step up from Grimes. But at least with Grimes you know he will play defense. I have more faith in Hardy turning his 3pt% around than Klay.

He is still figuring out which lineups work. If stuff is bad after about 25-30 games, then panic. Even in the losses they just made dumb mistakes. Its not like they are getting blown out. Plus, team is top 10 In both offense and defense. They also do play hard for Kidd. Saying Kidd has to go after we just went to the finals, is peak casual

Kidd isn't the problem. This team is getting used to playing together. We were spoiled at the trade deadline last season because PJ and Gaff just melded almost perfectly. We're seeing now that is usually not the case. Luka being STILL unhealthy doesn't help either.
