Hi Martin, I never really worry when a horse drifts, as I work to Betfair SP, and have had plenty of occasions where a horse has drifted and still won. If it is value on my sheet, then I’m happy with it. On the two point wins and 3 point wins, I will quite often add a little bit more to my own bets if I feel a drift is massively out of line. I did this with the big profit horse in May. It had really strong form with two horses at the front of the market from last season, and was 5 times the price of them when I put the advice out the night before at 20/1. When it drifted to over 45/1 on the exchange i put more money on, as it really was completely illogical. I would not necessarily advise that on this channel to followers, as I advise a simple 1, 2, 3 point strategy, and in terms of structure and discipline, it’s the right thing to do. However, if there is a solid enough reason behind the selection, and you believe the value has vastly increased, then mathematically the absolute right thing to do is stake more. I’m never all that concerned if a horse drifts, albeit it is nice to see it when the entire market seems to agree with you, and the price tumbles in. I actually think todays runner would have been there or thereabouts bar that massive blunder at the ditch, whether he would have won or not, I don’t know, as the winner did it very well indeed.

Hi Tony, Thanks for the comment. I appreciate that this perhaps looks a bit alarming on face value to some people, but there are a few key differences in this approach to many others you may see. These are win only bets, and focus on value based prices. On the whole this approach is always going to have far more losing bets, than winning ones. However, when we get the winners at the right prices, along with the correct staking, the returns more than make up for the losing stakes. It sounds counter intuitive to say that it’s not the amount of winners that matter, but it really is just that. If you consistently bet with a value approach, think of returns in terms of percentages rather than pure monetary value, it is easier to see this approach in a different light. As stated on the video, a 22.5 points profit is a fair return by any standards, but a 43% ROI is the correct way to look at things. Think of it from an investment perspective, if someone told you you could get an ROI of 40% on any money you invested in a given year, I’m fairly certain most people would jump at the chance. Even the best paying ISA accounts are paying only 5%. I cannot guarantee 40% returns month on month or year on year, but it has been around that figure the last two years during testing 37% + 45%, so I’m hopeful I can achieve somewhere in that range after the 12 months are up. I fully appreciate that this particular strategy does not, and will likely never appeal to many people. That said, I do believe it holds merit for anyone who has a long term approach, along with a solid mindset of disciplined and structured betting. A betting bank is key here. Perhaps just keep a watching brief or paper trade the selections for a while, and see if this strategy may be something you are willing to incorporate into your own portfolio. Either way, I wish you the best of luck with your betting going forward 👍
