Hi Martin, Many thanks for having the faith to do this, it really is quite humbling for me to read that, and know that you feel confident enough to stake at this level. I really do appreciate the support you have shown myself and the channel thus far, thank you very much indeed. Could I ask a favour (decline if you wish)? But if you are ok with it, perhaps you could click the link in the description for Patreon, and sign up for free to that page. You will get notified of any posts, but more importantly, and with your permission of course, I would like to contact you via email with a proposal. There is nothing untoward here I promise, it's a thought I have had, and think you would be the perfect person to run it past. Feel free to decline the above, as I do not want you to feel awkward in any way, this is the only outlet I have to engage with you on, and you will understand why I do not run the idea past you on this channel, once you hear it. As I say, there is absolutely no pressure, if you do not feel comfortable. Regards Dave

31 bets 4 winners ???????
@PegasusRaceRatings4 күн бұрын
Hi Tony, Thanks for the comment. I appreciate that this perhaps looks a bit alarming on face value to some people, but there are a few key differences in this approach to many others you may see. These are win only bets, and focus on value based prices. On the whole this approach is always going to have far more losing bets, than winning ones. However, when we get the winners at the right prices, along with the correct staking, the returns more than make up for the losing stakes. It sounds counter intuitive to say that it’s not the amount of winners that matter, but it really is just that. If you consistently bet with a value approach, think of returns in terms of percentages rather than pure monetary value, it is easier to see this approach in a different light. As stated on the video, a 22.5 points profit is a fair return by any standards, but a 43% ROI is the correct way to look at things. Think of it from an investment perspective, if someone told you you could get an ROI of 40% on any money you invested in a given year, I’m fairly certain most people would jump at the chance. Even the best paying ISA accounts are paying only 5%. I cannot guarantee 40% returns month on month or year on year, but it has been around that figure the last two years during testing 37% + 45%, so I’m hopeful I can achieve somewhere in that range after the 12 months are up. I fully appreciate that this particular strategy does not, and will likely never appeal to many people. That said, I do believe it holds merit for anyone who has a long term approach, along with a solid mindset of disciplined and structured betting. A betting bank is key here. Perhaps just keep a watching brief or paper trade the selections for a while, and see if this strategy may be something you are willing to incorporate into your own portfolio. Either way, I wish you the best of luck with your betting going forward 👍

@PegasusRaceRatings4 күн бұрын
Hi Martin, I never really worry when a horse drifts, as I work to Betfair SP, and have had plenty of occasions where a horse has drifted and still won. If it is value on my sheet, then I’m happy with it. On the two point wins and 3 point wins, I will quite often add a little bit more to my own bets if I feel a drift is massively out of line. I did this with the big profit horse in May. It had really strong form with two horses at the front of the market from last season, and was 5 times the price of them when I put the advice out the night before at 20/1. When it drifted to over 45/1 on the exchange i put more money on, as it really was completely illogical. I would not necessarily advise that on this channel to followers, as I advise a simple 1, 2, 3 point strategy, and in terms of structure and discipline, it’s the right thing to do. However, if there is a solid enough reason behind the selection, and you believe the value has vastly increased, then mathematically the absolute right thing to do is stake more. I’m never all that concerned if a horse drifts, albeit it is nice to see it when the entire market seems to agree with you, and the price tumbles in. I actually think todays runner would have been there or thereabouts bar that massive blunder at the ditch, whether he would have won or not, I don’t know, as the winner did it very well indeed.

@PegasusRaceRatings9 күн бұрын
Hi Martin, I’d love to help you achieve millionaire status, and I genuinely mean that. I have rates 5 races, all on the same sheet I displayed on the video. Unfortunately you would need to have Microsoft Excel, and preferably a PC to download to and view the sheet, but a tablet would suffice. I do a general write up on the rated races I do not have a selection in, that can quite often highlight a winner or two, sometimes at decent odds, to my own annoyance sometimes 😊. Unfortunately I am trying to cater to people’s needs as best as I can, and the majority seem to just want the selections, and the videos to be kept as short as possible. I post the full sheet on my Patreon page (link in description), and people are free to go and download and view it from there. The separate tabs at the bottom of the sheet is where you will find the different races. As I say, I could happily go through everything, as I can rattle on forever, but the majority of people are not interested and would rather I hurry up 😂, I don’t blame them. I will try and mix it up a bit, and maybe chuck in a word for anything I feel has the best chance from those races I do not provide a selection for 👍

@PegasusRaceRatings12 күн бұрын
@@kevinstead3813 Hi Kevin, it’s difficult to explain on the whole. The base ratings excluding the Speed & Master ratings are based on Post Data information, which I will adjust where I see fit. The speed, master and adjusted score are all separate entities. The adjusted rating is largely factored on a profiling scoring system that I base off 9 other criteria. The figures are lumped together, and adjusted based on my own algorithm, which again is centred around the importance I deem for each piece of criteria. I’m sure you probably know how the odds are then shown based on the rating figures, and bookmaker prices. I cannot take credit for the base ratings side of the system, this was something I came across on a blog post many years ago. It sparked my interest as it was similar to how I used to calculate my own many years ago, but with a couple of fundamental differences. I became friends via email with the person who posted the method, and then took what was a manual process originally, and semi automated it via excel. The base system is still the fundamental element of the model I use today, as it is simple, the other scoring factors are additions of mine that have undergone refinement over the last few years. I don’t know how else to explain them, other than giving you the sheets that sit behind what you see everyday, and I’m not willing to do that, hope you understand. Regards Dave

@@kevinstead3813 I did post a video on my Patreon page in response to someone else who asked for a more of an explanation. I covered off a few of the criteria I score, that largely affect the adjusted score on that video, but not everything. I’m happy to be as transparent as possible, but hope you can appreciate, I’m not giving everything away. The one other thing I am happy to share, is that my ratings do show a bias towards C&D winners, as that is a factor that I myself believe to warrant more credibility.

Would be great to See the old boy Vision Des Flos return to form. Absolutely thrown in on old form, but he doesn’t seem to be enjoying his racing all that much these days. I genuinely can’t call it. As I said in my write up, I was so tempted with Manor Park at the prices, but I think there is probably an element of being married to that thought, given I got my arse kicked last time when I backed him for a maximum. It shows how weak a race it is though when a 100 rated (King Otis) is second fav in a 0 - 130 event. making me wonder..any idea or your roi in 2023?
@PegasusRaceRatings17 күн бұрын
Hi Martin, 2022 & 2023 were both years where I spent refining the model and system that I use now. ROI was 37% & 42% which I was obviously happy with, but there were periods where I did not bet or test at all, so could be perceived as sporadic. It is worth noting that variance can kick in heavily sometimes, and the longest period without a winner during testing was 27 bets. Since going live in April this year, I have had two long periods of drought, with a 16 & 18 run of losers. Jumps season has been more profitable as a whole, and that may be because I am perhaps more comfortable with that sphere, but also the periods where I did less testing were during the Summer months, as I had a very heavy schedule with other things. I did average at least 6 months of testing in both 2022 & 2023 however, so I feel as though that was sufficient enough. If I can recover the data from my old laptop and transfer to my computer, I am happy to share the data from testing. Laptop died back in January, and I have been too lazy to take it to a shop to try and recover the hard drive.

I started posting a monthly round up & running P&L via normal post on the community tab of this channel as of last month. I update the P&L daily on the Patreon page, and was going to continue with the monthly roundups on KZbin. I don't want to add unnecessary admin where it's not needed, as I don't look at the P&L from a day to day, but rather with a month to month view. What I may start doing is a weekly or bi-weekly roundup via video format, as that would be a more viable way for me to do things, rather than double entering the figures so to speak. What does 1.1 equate to in money/stake?
@PegasusRaceRatings19 күн бұрын
Hi, Apologies but I’m not 100% sure what you are referring to. If it relates to the Value Indicator column on the ratings sheet, then anything above 1.00 is indicative of value in percentage of. For example, if the indicator is at a figure of 1.20, then that is saying that according to the Adjusted Rating figure, there is a potential 20% of value based on the bookmaker price to the actual odds the horse should be. It’s not an exact science, but it’s certainly a good reference point for further investigation. If you are inputting the odds into the sheet, it’s worth cross referencing the % chance of horse winning column against the Value Indicator column, as sometimes large odds horses can seem fantastic value, but in reality the price is the only thing that is driving that. Very low odds favourites can also throw the Value Indicator out on the rest of the runners as well, so further deep delving is advised before ascertaining whether or not the value is true or simply inflated. I hope that made sense, happy to do a separate video to try and clarify further if required. 👍

@PegasusRaceRatings19 күн бұрын
@@mikeydread7548 That sounds sensible mate. Please ensure you divide it accordingly to your desired per point amount (as an absolute minimum, this should be 100 points, but preferably 150 or 200). Your focus should not be how much money you make right away, but instead how much you make and compound over time. It’s more about discipline, which will give you the confidence to up your stakes when your betting bank dictates that you should, and will also help you to navigate and deal with the variance when it kicks in. The longest run of no winners has been 18 since the service went live on April 8th, there was also a run of 16 losers as well. The biggest run of losers I have encountered whilst refining the system before go live was 27. This can be a difficult pill to swallow if you do not have discipline and structure, as we as humans are naturally programmed to avoid that kind of pain. Many people will not be able to handle those sort of losing periods, and will quit, more often than not because they do not have an appropriate pot of money to sustain it. Quite often at the point they quit, the variance will shift, and they will miss out on the winners, which would have recouped the losses and more. It’s the very same thing with trading, it’s really more about mindset than anything else. Glad to have you aboard, and I hope I can help you build your bank over the coming months 👍

Cheers pal, I'm not sure what 'points' mean. I am new to this, but really enjoy it. Do you have any recommendations on how much I should put on per bet?

@@mikeydread7548 Hi, when I say points. Just relate to it as Points = £££’s. If you have a £200 betting bank, then divide it by the amount of points you feel comfortable with. For example a 100 point betting bank in your case would mean that you would stake at £2 per point. Therefore me advising a 2 point win, would mean a £4 stake for you. These stakes may seem small, and the wins initially will not be all that exciting. However, at the end of a 6 month or 12 month period, the returns on that money can be significant, certainly more than what can be achieved by a savings account. If you look at the returns you achieve in terms of percentage rather than monetary, this is the mindset you should have 👍
