P&O Aurora Cruise - Episode 2 - The POSH night!

In this vlog we bring you along on our P&O Aurora cruise, today is a day at sea and also the night where everyone dresses up posh, know as the P&O Celebration night.
During the day we have a Tiffin lunch at Sindhu and in the evening we eat in the main dining room and we really test is you can have more than one main! ;)
This was taken during our 3 night mini cruise on P&O Aurora in May. We first sailed on P&O Aurora back in 2014, she was our first cruise ship and where the love of cruising started. Aurora means a lot to us, so we were really excited to get on her for a mini cruise.
On this P&O Aurora cruise we spend 3 nights on board, with one sea day and one day at St Peters Port, Guernsey.

Really enjoying this series. I do like the subtle similarities across the P&O fleet - the Crow's Nest on Britannia delivers pretty much the exact same vibe as what you guys are showing in this video. Also, the aft area on Aurora looks magnificent!

Hi guys. What an excellent video. My partner and I were on the same cruise at the same time. We were in room B234. What an amazing time we had. We saw the show also, we thought they were very very good. Just like you, our favourite thing was to sit on our balcony and watch the sea which had an unreal, silken quality to it. We were just so so happy and relaxed. It looks like your experience was extremely similar to ours. The quiet ambience of The Crow's Nest was our favourite place for a drink. It was so good we've already booked for next year on the Aurora. 7 days around Spain and Portugal. Can't wait.

I have been on many cruises from where I am in the US and I do not know if I have ever seen calmer seas. The ship is beautiful and you two are looking quite dapper in your tuxedos. I do not have plans to go on any of the mega-ships because I am older and I do not care to walk a mile to dinner. 😅 I prefer the smaller ships. I watched the video of the two of you with Paul and Carole and decided to check out the two of you. I want to say that if I had as much to drink as you two do in a day, by the evening I would be laying somewhere passed out on the deck. There is nothing like a cruise. However, I do love Bermuda and have been there 30 some times either flying or cruising.

Did you go for the drinks package ? If so did you find it good value ? What was the best meal ? what restaurant was it in ? We are going on her for 12 nights on the 30th of this month for a trip to see the northern lights in Alta, should be fun. Love your channel guys and keep up the good work.

Hi! We normally go for the drinks package because we quite like our red wines However if you love your cocktails and spirits it might be worth looking into the prices and wether or not they’re under the price cap, doubles for instance aren’t included in the package. We couldn’t have a drinks package on this cruise because P&O only sell them on cruises of 5nights or more. Regards food, we loved it all, Sindhu was nice as was the glass house, being on for 12 nights we’d recommend you try both as you have plenty of time and it will mix things up a bit for you so you don’t get stuck in routine. We’ve only ever sailed up to Norway during the summer (midnight sun) and we think the scenery is just totally spectacular, Aurora has plenty of open decks and the view from the stern is just jaw dropping! Aurora also has an interior pool area/solarium so if you like a swim it will be nice and warm and sheltered from the elements. We’d book this cruise if we could fit it in so if thats not a recommendation I don’t know what is! 😂 you’re going to have a great time! Enjoy!

Hi Guys, Nice blogs......I've been on Iona twice and Sindhui does not cater for anyone with a nut allergy. I was restricted to 2 main and 2 deserts (fruit salad and banana something) I was very disappointed considering you think it's prepared and cooked on board.

Thank you! Awww, that is such a shame! We're fortunate and don't have any allergens but you would expect them to cater for them these days, cruise lines are normally quite good at that.

Is it all couples on these cruises? i'm single and none of my friends fancies cruising, i have always wanted to go on one, Any advice? (68 years yoiung female)

I have done two cruises solo. Everyone is very friendly so you can spend time with people, or not, as you prefer. The best tip is to take a table in the Main Dining Room for a larger number so you can chat with people over dinner and perhaps make friends. Some cruise lines organise Solo Meet-ups on the day after embarkation day to meet other solos. Don't worry, its not 'singles' as in looking for romance. It is just like minded cruisers. I don't have a partner or anyone who wants to cruise either, but I am a bit adventurous, and cruising is really safe for solo travelling. Rather than miss out do give it a go. The only disadvantage is that the cruise lines charge an almost double price to occupy a cabin for two, and single cabins are often almost as expensive, so beware of that. I hope you give it a try and enjoy the wonderful experience of cruising. By the way, I am 66 this year and also female.

Warrior box has beat us to this :) Lot's of solos do cruises - Cruising Tips Pete has a channel and also a large facebook group for solo cruisers to get advice. P&O will do a solo coffee morning where you can meet other solos where you could then organise to meet up for activities and etc if you wished. You can also request you are sat on a large table, that will mean you will have lots to talk to. Cruising is great, so give it a go! Find a good cruise travel agent and they may be able to help you navigate the single supplements and etc.
