Balcony does indeed look very small, but at least you can open the door & get proper fresh air in the cabin! The balcony on Azura definitely is bigger, ditto Oceana & Arcadia, the only other ships I've sailed on before. I am sailing on Britannia in October, getting quite worried about all the negative things I'm hearing about the lifts, particularly as I'll be with my elderly mum.

carole9908 I am going on Britannia sept 5th, never having cruise before, read mixed reviews, so am going with open mind. am on holiday and hoping small things don't ruin it for meif you have to wait a few minutes etc, does it really matter, as its a holiday, not to rush around, take it easy

Thanks for the video, can i ask could you see the lifeboats from inside the cabin. I was rather hoping they'd only be apparent if you were looking over the side of the ship. If you did it again would of you selected a higher up deck level? Thanks

Tom Neave Hi, no I couldn't see them from inside the cabin. Only when near to the balcony. If this is an issue, easy fix just get a balcony a bit higher up! You may pay a bit more the higher you go though. As a bonus is the worse happened.. I could always jump onto one lol

Tom Neave personally I wouldn't go higher up.. you pay more for that.. and the life boats didn't bother me. I wouldn't go any lower, as that would then be an obstructed view (although you pay less for that) It has to be said though, we didn't spend much time on the balcony.. so could easily have just booked an inside cabin!

Well i might need to use them if my wife is unhappy with the situation! What's happened is we moved our holiday a year and didnt realise that P&O moved us from Deck 4 down to 9 (albeit a room size upgrade) which we didn't notice until now so was getting really concerned that it ruined the views. Hi, We didnt go in August so cant say for sure. The Fjords can be a good mix or rain, snow and sun. I would pack a little of everything. The two times I have been its been mainly sunny sun, with rain in only one stop.

I go on in July. I've been on 3 Royal Caribbean cruises, slowly I feel the quality dropped. The room on here looks far bigger than on Harmony of the Seas or independence of the seas. My first on Allure of The Seas you had a sofa, the following two bed & that's it. Same with food, first time on Allure of The Seas all was great, my last outing with Independence of the Seas was met with cold soup etc. My reason for switching to P&O, I look forward to comparing,

flambatious Fjords in July. First time be going from Southampton UK, went from New York last year, Im looking forward to no flights, be the first holiday since school days I've not been on the plane. Regarding Royal Caribbean, our first cruise on the dining room jokingly I asked for Strawberries & Cream. They came with if & in the meantime I suggested how good it looked what a friend had. They came back with that as well, was great, Then in the cabin, every time you came out a cat or something made out of towels met you on the bed. Again, something that wasn't repeated. One things for sure though, you don't run out of things to do, The largest ships are huge & so much on them.

CarlWiganer ah you will love cruising without needing to fly !! It’s so good. The fjords are amazing too. We used to get animals made out of towels on p and o.. but last few cruises not had that. I don’t think the staff get time anymore.. I wouldn’t want their job.

No, drinks are extra. However they are UK pub prices so not expensive. You can buy a wine package, a coffe card, and a soft drinks card.

it's expensive and as you can imagine out at sea it is very slow. Personally, and not meaning to be in anyway negative about the lovely Britannia, I wouldn't bother. It takes an age to connect and gobbles up your minutes!!! What I do when on holiday is put the phone in the safe and leave it alone untill I get back!! If you need the internet, I would wait till a land day, then go find free wifi in bars or cafe's.... or pay for some internet time on land.

flambatious hi, the biggest problem we found was the lack of midship staircase, getting lifts was a nightmare at times, also our cabin rattled and vibrated with the engines we never experienced either on azura. The balcony was also larger on Azura and you could check your account and order room service on the TV, but they are minor points, but generally I found Azura a better laid out ship especially on the open decks, I missed the open air cinema although properly wouldn't have used it on the fjords. I would definitely travel on Britannia again but I'm afraid it's a step backwards in my opinion.

Mark m Yes totally agree, the only real issue with Britannia was the missing stair case in the middle. Meaning you had to wait for a lift!! Our cabin was on floor 9 i think and stairs went to 7...so we had to get lift to go up 2 floors...not the best. I am on Azura soon, and can wait to try out the open air cinema (to be honest it is my reason for booking her!!) I guess I will also find out if the balcony is bigger or not (everyone says it is) Like you I would defo travel on Britannia again, can't beat Oceania in my opinion, if only they put in some stairs! Thanks for your review though, I will let you know what I think about Azura when I have been on her!

However my friend has said that the ventura ones are bigger, however their balcony was overlooked, whereas britannia is not directly overlooked which is a bonus for me! Have you had balconies on Azura and Ventura yourself ???
