Great video of a lovely reminder of the beautiful Olden, we booked the same Troll car excursion and although a bit of a rush it was a fun experience. The Loen Skylift looks like an amazing excursion and certainly something I would do if we ever went to Olden again. Even on a misty day, the views were just stunning.

Just wow! Those waterfalls and the glacier were breathtakingly beautiful. I've always wanted to do this cruise. I loved the sail away, that must have been a wonderful experience. Your food at the Glass House looked lush, those desserts looked divine. Great vlog. Thoroughly enjoyed watching!

I honestly believe that’s theres a cruise line and ship for everyone, maybe try a 3 night mini-cruise as there’s great deals around and you’ll know if it’s for you. The glacier was so incredible and the Glass House is highly recommended as it’s great food for a reasonable price. Many thanks for watching ☺️

Yes, I really enjoy the MDR lunch and it’s surprising how many people miss that it’s actually happening.

Strange things are always afoot at the Circle K. That waterfall you rode by WAS amazing. The views as you traveled through the mountains and valleys were so gorgeous. Your lunch on the ship really did look delicious. I do not share your enthusiasm for cable cars. The heights looked horrifying. LOL. But the scenery was so wonderful. Congratulations for being the first to pick up on that Bill and Ted reference 😂 The waterfall was so incredible, what an experience! The cable car was fine but if you don’t like heights then this excursion won’t be for you, it did move around in the wind a fair bit 😳

We did exactly the same as you guys in Olden. It was probably our favourite port in Norway and it's great to get different peoples versions of the various ports! We haven't sailed with P&O yet though! 👍

I agree, Olden was a fantastic port and it’s our favourite too. P&O are generally very good but they’re not favourite, well worth trying if the ship goes to the right ports for you. Many thanks for watching ☺️

That’s such a great idea, I can honestly say that sailaway was quite emotional. I read recently that the residents of Olden are sad when the season is over as they miss the excitement of the ships visiting them. The Norwegian fjords is such a great first cruise as they ports are all quite different. Which other ports are you going to?

Absolutely beautiful to see Norway! I love all of the warm clothes in the shop lol. The drive to the glacier has beautiful views. Wow! The waterfall is stunning (and I love the mist haha!) The glacier water is a stunning blue. It truly does look like a magical experience. Wow. Breathtaking! Dessert looks delicious. Nice to hear about the other excursion options too. Looks amazing, I am going next week but a bit worried cos we purchased tickets for the skylift through the official website which doesn’t include the shuttle bus. Do you know if we can pay just to get on a shuttle bus up there and back?

@@TheDashingHarry It’s fantastic and the good news is that if you’ve booked the official website then the shuttle bus will be included in the price. This is exactly what I did and had no issues. I hope you have a wonderful time, Olden is incredible.

Wonderful views, though kinda scary to see how far the glacier has receded. I want one of those buggys for popping down to the shops. Is tbe Helly Hanson wear cheaper there than in the UK ?

The guide said that without some serious snowfall in the next few years it will disappear from sight which is quite sad. Me too, they looked so fun to drive. The Helly Hanson clothes were expensive here as it’s a proper tourist trap. I’m just getting hungry watching your fish and chips vlog 😂

Hey, the trip to the glacier started at 10am and we were back having lunch at 1.30pm. The bus to the Skylift was at 3pm and we were back onboard at just after 5pm. Nothing felt rushed and it was honestly one of my favourite ports days I’ve had.

What a fantastic vlog. We are doing this cruise next year and are hoping to do both trips. What time did you start/end the glacier trip? I have seen other vlogs with big queues for the skylift, but there was none for you. Do you remember roughly what time that was? How long do you need to do the skylift trip. Sorry for all the questions - this is our first cruise and worried I'll be left behind!

Hi, I booked the Glacier trip with the troll cars directly with Olden Adventures for 10am. I got there a few minutes early however and there’s only a short walk to the coach. I got back to Iona at 1.30 and had a sit down lunch but you can go to the buffet to save time. We left for the Skylift at 3 and got to the top 30 minutes later, I think the crowds had long gone by then. We were up there for just over an hour before heading back to the ship. If you’re really concerned you can book the excursion through P&O but you would pay more and still use the same bus. I don’t think people get left behind in Olden. If you have any further queries about this or anything else please let me know.

Great vlog 👍 we are going next year and will have an 8 year old with us. Do you know if the walk back from the glacier is the same as the walk up? Im thinking we might get a troll car up and then walk down just so we arent pressured by time.

How are you proposing to get to the Troll cars, if you book a package then the coach times will be set?

@ALifeintheParks either by the public bus or the company at the port. I just mean its hard to tell how steep it is so unsure if he will be quite slow going up or not.

Thanks I’m visiting olden in June .. what time did you get off your ship to book the glacier our ships gets in at.t 7 am sky princess and leaves at 4 pm would that be enough for the cable car in the afternoon ? Lois Australia 😊😎🙋🏻‍♀️

Hi Lois, I would recommend pre-booking the glacier trip before you get these as you would want to leave as early as possible. That will give you the best opportunity to ride the cable car but do check for cloud cover up there as if it’s low you might not see too much.
