Went on Iona last June beautiful ship, staff and food , balcony cabin beautiful, more places to eat included than most ships , had credit used it in glasshouse and keel and cow that are so reasonable.

Loved our trip to Norway on Iona, only real issue for us was the fact the some speciality dining was in a public area ie the Keel and Cow. Overall we found it a brilliant trip and the crew worked exceptionally hard to make it so. Value for money, well overall yes. One thing I would not advise getting is a drinks package, difficult to calculate what is and what is not included, you are limited and it does work out expensive. Use your on board credit instead and just pay the difference at the end, works out much more cost effective.

Great overview of a cruise to Norway. I did a very similar route (but with different ports) the same time Iona was doing these ports. I’d really recommend you guys trying Virtuosa for this route - some of MSCs chosen ports (Flåm and Geirangerfjord in particular) are absolutely stunning!

A very well presented video and some fantastic photography too. You say at the end, that there were a few problems with the ship .. size, food etc, but you have another trip on the same ship coming up soon. You had obviously booked the second cruise before going on this one .. My question is therefore ... if you hadn't already booked cruise 2, would you still do so, knowing now what the ship is like

Thanks for your kind words! Still believe these are issues for Iona but the value wins for us. Our December cruise we tried more specialty dining and avoided the buffet which worked well for us. It was still very busy but we worked through it. We have our third Iona cruise booked for the Fjords again in August and will take a lot of these learnings to improve the experience.

Loved this indepth review 😄 We went during the last week of August, we loved the whole experience, our sea view cabin was disability friendly, huge and absolutely wonderful. The food was still pretty bad though 😆. Everywhere the portions were not very generous We enjoyed the 'speciality' restaurants (we went to the glass house, the epicurean, the keel and cow, The Beach Hut, and The Olive Grove) but the Horizon buffet was just horrible, poor choice, bizzare mixtures and just inedible deserts. We liked the food at the quays when being extra casual, but portions were particularly mean ....9 chips with the small fish portion, delicious though. The crew were all lovely, and just being at see and getting to see some of such a beautiful country was brilliant on its own, although a bit big and noisy, would 100% go again.

They do have some different dance genre sessions but it depends on the cruise. It will normally be listed in the Daily Horizon newsletter you receive in the cabin.
