This was his first time performing by himself and the first BTS member to do a solo concert. He was under so much pressure and stress (that he put upon himself) that he lost a lot of weight so his band member, Jimin, flew out a few days before the concert to help relieve his stress. JHope was so thankful for that. It's incredibly sweet to see his vlive after the performance just thanking his brother (BTS member Jimin) for being there with him.

He is the first Korean act ever to headline a major US show and also, had the festival closer stage :) He also is the best seller artist in Lolla's history, despite him being announced quite late (the tickets selling was already opened when he was announced) and he sold the Sunday out in only 20 minutes of his announcement :) Jhope is probably going to have a world tour after his military, if it happened we will let you know :) Also those lights are lightsticks, every K-pop group has a specialized one for their fandom, for BTS Army it's called "army bomb" ! They give such a dope af visual to concerts esp ! Thank you for reaction, Jhope is an incredible artist 🔥🔥
@NanciBK

Yes. Just to add that the light sticks are Wi-Fi enabled. So at stadium shows you connect through an app to your section and seat number and they do light displays coordinated by songs and stuff and can also do patterns and spell out words etc. If you connect them at home and play music through Wi-Fi the light stick will also react to the song.

I was at this concert, only about 50 feet from the stage. It was an amazing experience. Hobi set the Lollapalooza record for selling out the festival on Sunday, which is usually the slowest day there. The non-Kpop crowd who didn’t know who he was were so caught off guard with how good he was. He made lots of new fans that day.

1) He was really nervous, he lost weight because he couldn't sleep nor eat decently. He didn't sleep the night before! 2) He's an exceptional human being, his words are not hollow, he helps a lot of people wirhout making it public. His smile is enough to lighten anyone's day! Oh! I forgot to say that "they arrive in our lives when we need more"... It's beautiful (and relatable) to see how deep he and his music hit you... Go on and never give up on your dreams! 💜💜💜💜💜 Oh 2! I forgot to tell you about how J-Hope loves his fandom (A.R.M.Y.)... We watched this concert for free at home. It was transmitted by Weverse, an app which connects fans and artists.

J-hope is really one of a kind. He is different from everyone in BTS or in Kpop at all. He pours his soul and body energy into performances and lets it flow naturally with music, unlike most kpop artists who normally follow a fixed choreography and rely much on flashy stage set or excessive face expressions. Music wise he is also very versatile, trying out different genres always. Thank you for reacting to his videos! I suggest you to check out "Hope on the Street", which is his street dance series and short videos he casually posts online.

Ok the crowd size thing was a misunderstanding from unclear reporting-100K is Lollapalooza’s capacity for the entire festival per day. But there definitely were a lot of people there, and he was announced last-minute, after the tickets had already been on sale, so a lot of fans didn’t get to go. Lolla is also very strict about that capacity. Beginning this year (I think), it will be increased to 115K per day.
@meenakshishorya4110
@meenakshishorya4110 Жыл бұрын
@@NatalieMarie917 Don't make up things. There was 100k people just for him. Lollapalooza themselves claimed that he was the most sold out artist in the entire 31 years of Lollapalooza history. Lollapalooza usually have 400k audiences for a single day and during weekends it reduce to 200k or less . So 100k audience was just for him.
@NatalieMarie917
@NatalieMarie917 Жыл бұрын
@@meenakshishorya4110 my comment disappeared or got deleted, but I absolutely did not make that up. The daily capacity is 100K and the total capacity for the 4 days combined is 400K. There are so many articles about this. They also would have had no way to calculate how many people were at his set. So, most articles said “tens of thousands.” The ones that didn’t were from the types of sites that just use random people’s twitter posts as their sources. This is not a dig against J-Hope, it’s just that this 100K thing is not true and is also extremely easy to fact check. If we spread around things that ended up to me a miscommunication or misunderstanding, it can make people less likely to trust any claims made about his accomplishments in the future.

@@NatalieMarie917 you’re right. Lolla only said that Sunday sold out bc of j-hope. And that there was 100k people at the festival. Armys took that as meaning 100k people were in the crowd. Some festival goers were at Green Day’s set. But I saw video of Green Day’s set and it was smaller. I wouldn’t be surprised if like 70-80k out of the 100k were at j-hope and only 20-30k at Green Day or other places. Also, I was there and we were packed in beyond being able to move. I couldn’t even have jumped if I wanted to bc I would’ve landed on someone or caused a crowd crush/stampede.

I'm so glad J-Hope's positive messages have resonated with you! It just shows that you are similar. A seed can only take hold on fertile ground!! Since the "On the Street" video came out with J. Cole, so many new people have been led to J-Hope and his music. He truly is a great solo artist and getting more popular internationally since his music is so rooted in the original hip hop scene from America. Eventually J-Hope will lead you to BTS, especially the music of the rap line -- RM, Suga and J-Hope. I suggest you start with Ugh, then DDaeng, then Outro Tear (live). Once you get used to the rap line, you can start getting to know the rest of the members. I'd start there with Mic Drop (Steve Aoki version)

Lollapalooza was great! I hope you get a chance to see them in a stadium/arena too because it has a whole different feel to it. The visibility is better, the lightsticks are synced, you don’t have people pressed up against you (unless you have GA, I guess) and you’re surrounded by armys the entire time rather than other festival goers who may have been rude af. It’s a surreal experience to walk into a stadium full of armys for the first time because you can actually see almost the entire crowd from where you’re sitting. I also got covid at Lolla, which definitely didn’t happen at their PTD concerts. 😅

Yes, I was waiting for your reaction to Hobipalooza. IT WAS AMAZING 🔥🔥 J-Hope's stage presence and energy is on a another level and Army was cheering with so much passion that watching the crowd gave me goosebumps.There was like 100k people there and Hobi made history at lollapalooza becoming the first korean act to headline a major US music festival + he became the highest ticket-selling artist in Lollapalooza history. (Also, there was 14M people watching live his performance only in one platform and the other ones idk) What a way to make a legendary debut and first ever solo concert/performance. 😶🔥 I love it so much and the fact I can still feel the big energy through the screen... I can't imagine how it felt in person.. just WOW I'm so proud of him 😭 Fun fact: one of the BTS' members called Jimin was there with his friends on the side of the stage watching. Jimin was cheering so much just as army and he said he was dancing and cursing a lot lmao

I was one of the worldwide fans watching it on the live stream. J-Hope will be joining the military very soon as he has to do his 16-18month's military duty. So you'll have to wait until he returns to see him live on stage again. One of the members is already past his basic training as he entered in November. BTS have promised they'll all be regrouping in 2025 once the military duty is completed.

I also didn’t realize at the time how many people were there because I wasn’t being crushed for once in such a dense crowd. ARMY took such great care of each other, I was truly surprised lol But what I also found really cool is how many people who had never heard his music, they just migrated over to his stage. And then loved him. They were really surprised that he wasn’t bubblegum pop, which is what we’ve all been trying to tell people about both him and BTS! So thank you for having an open mind and choosing to discover more of Hobi 💜

Lollapalooza is a beast in itself. I was dead set on going once it was announced he would be performing. I had zero desire to go beforehand. I requested the day off from work weeks before I even had tickets. I purchased the tickets the day before his album dropped. My niece and I spent 11 hours standing. I had no bathroom breaks, I got a suntan, a hoarse voice, and sore feet. But it was all worth it to see this man live. It was my first live BTS concert. Live shows are INSANE! I will NEVER forget the best night of my life. Next up is Suga aka Agust D (as of BTS). Same thing with him. I requested the day off from work the day he announced his tour (this past Valentine's Day). I even requested the day off to buy tickets. I will be attending the first show here in Illinois in May. The ticket-buying process was so stressful and hectic. Too long of a story to even get into. 🤣 Suga will be performing in Oakland and Inglewood, California this May.

During concerts with assigned seats, the lightsticks are synced to the music and turn different colors at different times depending on where you’re sitting. Equal signs is like part two or a continuation of P.O.P. He has such a beautiful positive message that’s why we love him so much. BTS is very big on self love and being kind to others. Thank you for your genuine reactions to Hobi/J-hope and BTS.

P.O.P. is an All-Around Inspiration off his First Release, Hope World but J-Hope as "Jae" delivers it with so much want and love 🖤 The live backing band, especially the Marimba, always brings tears. Hobi encapsulated damn near every single genre of Lollapalooza Single-handedly on his First Ever Solo Performance. I have rarely been so fiercely proud of another human being. If you watch the Disney+ documentary, Hope in the Box, you'll see he was as nervous as any first time performer, unable to eat or sleep.

I always felt this sort of connection with J-hope the most out of all the members, he just has something about the way he raps and the things he raps about that make you feel heard, it feels like he's talking directly to you, I'm so glad you gave him a chance and liked him! hope you react to him more.

I am 63 and made it to Lollapaloosa . The crowd, the performance -I’ll never forget it. In South Korea all men have to do mandatory military service. He will go in April and be there for 18 months. We all will be waiting. We all were holding light sticks - called ARMY BOMBS! Love your reaction!

Aw sweetheart. You keep working hard. I am so happy to hear our Hope is inspiring you. The boys of BTS have really inspired me too. I have more life behind me than in front of me. I just lost my husband in January, but I know I would be faring much worse right now without J-Hope and the rest of BTS. Keep chasing your dreams. They are proof you can get there!

Piece of Peace has always been and will always by my fav hobi (j-hope) song, since the first listen I cried when I watched this performance streamed live and he sang it. It was just an overflowing of emotion cry, nothing specific just it was so much for me.

I just love your reaction to this! There are a lot of reactors that say they want to hear more from j-hope but very few that will commit to watching a 2-hr concert. To me, this solo gig is where he really shines. I'm so impressed and proud of him for taking this project on. It's the first time a Korean artist has headlined at Lollapalooza and he killed it! I'm looking forward to hanging with you while you get to know bts and while you keep moving ahead to realize your own dream. The song you liked at 11:31 is my favorite. It's called Hangsang ("always") feat. Supreme Boi, who is a rapper and producer with their label and friend of RM's since middle school. He writes a lot of their lyrics as well.

11:31 - Hangsang, one of my favorites from the Hope World mix tape. No official video, unfortunately, but it's an incredible track. Re: "Piece of Peace" - he wants to be strength and a light to someone, and that's what he's being for you. You're making his wish come true. He'd be so proud and happy. FWIW, "Jack in the Box" as a whole is fucking magnificent.

I'm glad to see you've connected to j-hope. bts' music inspired us, btsarmy in too many ways. As for myself, I used to deal with depression back in 2015-2018 that was when bts found me and recused me with their music. I wish you'd react to more bts' songs (if you want songs you can easily relate with, i highly recommend Paradise and Nevermind - Nevermind was that song which pulled me up from the abyss of sadness and depression and Paradise comforted me) and their mixtape projects too! Thank you for reacting! I'm really appreciate!

I can say that although he’s a great stage performer it’s his message and how much he deeply cares and wants to spread hope that has given him such a big fan base. But he’s also got over 10 years just with BTS learning to perform and project in a way to hit 100k people. P.O.P is my favorite song and message of his. I work in non profits trying to live this and it hits do deeply to hear 100k people (plus the 40 million online) singing along with him. Too many artists have a pretty shallow or no message or depth to their music not our guys they are so dang wholesome but relatable. They don’t sugar coat how hard the world is but as he says he wants to spread a positive vibe. Good luck with your goals keep working towards them! 💜

It is been a real pleasure to watch these reactions loaded with your sincere interest, honest opinions, emotional responses and genuine enthusiasm. To see you share P.O.P is a real joy, because it’s so emotional for ARMY to see J-Hope succeed on this massive scale as well as to reach someone intimately. Thank you so much for your time, and for the space in your comments that’s been stocked with information that will live on to inform and welcome others right along with you.
