P&O Pacific Jewel - Full Tour of Aussie Cruise Ship now Scrapped! (was later Karnika)

Filmed aboard P&O Pacific Jewel's final voyage the ship has since been scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This special voyage aboard the beautiful Pacific Jewel sailed from Melbourne to Singapore in February / March 2019.
I sailed aboard as a guest speaker from Melbourne to Fremantle. The video shows P&O Pacific Jewel's final departure, the P&O cabins, the ship’s interior, ship’s shops, P&O’s lounge, P&O bars, the P&O Edge experience, lots of deck and at sea views and more.
The ship has was relaunched in 2019 as Jalesh Cruises’ flagship Karnika. The interiors were largely the same as they were when she was Pacific Jewel. She was scrapped in 2020/2021.

Great Vlog Mate, It’s sad to see the ship getting scrapped,I’ve got many fond memories of this beautiful white lady when I worked on her back in 2013 as Ship Security. I know the ship inside out. I loved it and it brings back great memories. God Bless.

Sooo sad 😞. Crown and sister ship Regal were my inspirations to sail. They would make their way up to the embarkation port of Seward, Alaska. This was back in the 90s. I eventually booked my first cruise in ‘97 on the Sun Princess. 🤗👍🏼 Beautiful ship. 😃 Entertainment in the theater was amazing. I went solo but my next cruise was with my daughter- two months later on the Celebrity Horizon!! 😃❤️👍🏼 Sooo sad to see all these beauties come to the end of their sailing days. 😥😥😥 🙏🏼💙

Had a lovely cruise on her around the Pacific on the Jewel a few years ago, Nice ship, great crew, and not a block of apartments on a barge! She was a real ship.

Went to Moreton island in 2014 aboard Pacific jewel, a few updates and changes in the 5 years since but lots of familiar decor and facilities brought back memories. Even then it was one of the older and smaller ships of the fleet but was warm and inviting with plenty to see and do, went through a storm on the last night which nearly emptied the pool and made sitting in the waterfront restaurant over the stern quite interesting. It's a shame she succumbed to the cutting torch but I did recall some flaking paint and rust blisters in places which made me think she was near the end of her life

3:25 It was built for Sitmar but P&O bought them out in 1989 and so got Sitmar's three new builds as part of the deal. Only one Sitmar ship left now, sister ship to this one now sailing as Ambience.

Mine and my hubby’s first cruise was on the P&O Pacific Jewel. Departing Sydney 31st July, 2016, on a 12 night The Great Barrier Reef to Cairns, then return to Sydney via Willis Island. We both had a fabulous time on our first cruise. But we had even booked our 2nd and 3rd cruises on two different ships before going on our 1st cruise. Our 2nd cruise was a 12 night to Fiji and our 3rd a 17 night to New Zealand. We are due to go in about 22 days time on our 4th cruise on a 35 night to Hawaii, Tahiti and New Zealand. Our choice of stateroom has always been a balcony room, up on either decks 9, 10, 11. They are certainly a wonderful choice to spend your time on a relaxing fantastic holiday on. You can say we have definitely been bitten by the cruise bug!

My sister sailed on Pacific Jewel two years ago to Morton Bay and she said it was a good ship and she had a great time. She would have like to have had a longer trip on her it looks like a lovely ship 🚢

We enjoyed our 2018 cruise on the Pacific Jewel, with only one reservation - we traveled during the NZ school holidays, and would never do that again. Too many kids permitted to run wild with no consideration for others. Otherwise, we thought her a quite spacious and well-designed ship with roomy cabin and plenty of storage. Our other cruises have been on Cunard (Queen Victoria), Celebrity (C. Solstice), and Princess (Sea Princess) and thought they were all slightly more glamorous but in some ways no more comfortable than the Jewel. The Jewel food was no better than OK but I suppose that depends on your expectations. Happy memories!

Hi Chris, I enjoy your stories, you mirror one of my heroes "John Maxtone-Graham" who introduced me to the Ship world with his Book "The Only Way to Cross", Pacific Jewel will always be my beloved Crown Princess, I have a Painting in my Home of her that I treasure I also have so many wonderful memories of time on the Crown, Crew and Friends and also the Ship, Everything from teaching the crew to use the new digital projector in the Cinema, (Yes it had a Beautiful Cinema) Checking out the original Disco that turned into the Crew Bar in the bottom of the ship, Experiencing one of the first meetings of Elite passengers in the Captain's Quarters, enjoying that first balcony experience and the 2.5-hour dinners in the Dining Room, She will always be a favorite ship, as someone who loves these beasts, I have done a ritual every time I board and disembark a cruise ship, I always say a Prayer with my Hands on the Superstructure, "God Bless the Crown Princess and all who sail on her" Thank You for all you do BUD

How are the mighty fallen! I remember , from my teens in the ate 40's that P and O was second only to the great Cunard; and now, it seems that it only has hand me downs from Princess. Still a great ship though. Its always a pity to see sips on the downward spiral
