Best p&o ship

I have been on a few Cruises and Chris Frame is the ship historian where U can listen to his seminars for free and he has a wealth of knowledge.......He really knows his stuff.

I have had many good times on that ship. I wonder where the ship is going? China and be refurnished or is it going to scrapped?

This ship when it was the Dawn princess was my introduction to cruising that was in 2008 a 13 day cruise to NZ from Sydney After that I was totally hooked and cruising has taken me around the world twice on the Sea and one on the coral I am disappointed to see how cruising has changed with the bigger ships and i will always remember this special time on my first trip

Had 15 fabulous p&o cruises. Don't forget ADELAIDE.

Sad decision! made worse by not basing ships in Fremantle & Melbourne,a real pain having to travel to Sydney,Sick joke was they relocated Tassmanian ferry terminal from conveniant Port Melbourne to Gelong! allowing for more cruise ships?.Have cruised on many ships over the years,they all have thier Own charms

The ocean liner is far superior in every way to the Airborne cattle cars.

Enjoyed working on her as an Enrichment/Destination Speaker when she was the Dawn Princess.

We need a ship that can be homeported in Fremantle doing round trips up north to Broome and back and then all the way south to Adelaide and back so technically that ship is home ported at Adelaide and Fremantle all year round! Australia deserves having a ship located down the south and West Coast😖

Lots of great info in an obviously limited timeframe. My mum's family came to Australia on RMS Himalaya in the 1960's. End of an era, but times change I guess.

Did a South Pacific trip on this ship last week. Loved it!

We dd a NZ cruise on the Dawn Princess out of Melbourne Dec 2012, P&O Explorer our of Melbourne in Dec 2024 but was run down a bit from the Dawn princess days

Please stop panicking us British people. P&O is a prime and lucrative brand that isn’t going. What is going is P&O Australia. Please make it clear.

I’m travelling on the third last Pacific Adventure cruise in a couple weeks

Just got of the pacific explorer today after back to back cruises Melbourne Fremantle and exmouth Fremantle the cruises where vrey much full and everyone having a great time There was plenty discussion about us Fremantle based cruisers will miss these great opportunities Fremantle and Perth are great places to explore

As a melbournian, I would often see Explorer at Station Pier, but I never booked a cruise on her, something I regret now. Friends said she was a great ship :)

What are your best P&O memories?

I was also on board the Queen Anne’s Transatlantic Maiden Voyage two weeks ago! I was in an inside cabin on Deck 10 up near the very front of the ship. Never got a sound night’s sleep . The ship pitched and rolled. Every time a big wave hit the bow , it sounded like a bombshell went off below. The ceiling and clothing cabinets in my cabin creaked, groaned and made loud popping sounds. The empty clothes hangers in the cabins on both sides of mine swayed and banged against the inside of the cabinets all night and day . I overheard many other passengers complaining about the same thing. I’ve traveled on QM2 many occasions over the years .Sometimes in bad weather even worse and NEVER had these problems . The styling of the interior room was just MEH ! None of the classic Cunard charm of the other three queens. Never going back aboard the Queen Anne again 👎 Moral of the story , If your planing to do a transatlantic voyage , ONLY GO ON A TRUE OCEAN LINER !! ONLY GO ABOARD THE QUEEN MARY 2 !!

I did my first transatlantic crossing on her to New York in 1992 and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed with her interiors. To my younger self, the 1960's decor of plastic and formica felt dated and cheap and somewhat utilitarian. I guess now it would be retro chic. I do have happy memories though of tasting my first Mai Tai cocktail in the Yacht Club bar whilst she battled through a winter storm. I met some amazing people on that crossing.

Just found out that Chris and Stephen Payne will be speakers on our crossing from Southampton to NY this summer. Can't wait.
