Statistically speaking, kinda? Hoenn is built in circles overall, but because it's a 2D top-down game most of that time is walking up or down. Moving 0 and 5 to up and down respectively would speed up progress a bit at the cost of start menu access (Which honestly it shouldn't have anyway) at the cost of opportunities for viral "praise Helix" moments.
