Péricles is the former leader of the group Exaltasamba together with his fella Thiaguinho. They both formed a legendary duo of the Pagode Music (a sub genre of samba). Frank, Pericles is simply the king of the Pagode! Pagode is one of the variations of Samba and is the most heard rhythm in Brazil (nothing to do with R&B)! Péricles is revered not only by the public, but by all the samba artists throughout Brazil. He has a beautiful voice and an even better technique, which cannot be seen in a single song! Péricles was the vocalist of the most famous Brazilian pagode group (my opinion), which was "Exaltasamba" (means the exaltation of samba), which made and still is a success (this group always has several vocalisas, at the same time). Before Péricles, another samba singer from Exaltasamba, who was also a contemporary of Péricles, is called Chrigor, who is also fantastic (only the best sing in Exaltasamba). More recently, Exaltasamba had Tiaguinho as vocalist. The three left Exaltasamba and followed a solo career. Thiaguino is the most successful, too, for being younger and considered to be very handsome, but Péricles and Chrigor are more technical and more respected by critics! But I also like Thiaguinho! You have never heard of Péricles because this is Pagode (Samba) and you are Italian / foreign. The Brazilian music market has several styles of its own and an extremely strong consumer market! Frank, that instrument is not a Ukulele, actually is called Cavaco or Cavaquinho. It's a very commun isntrument in Brasil used to play Samba, chorinho (as well as the Bandolin) and the Pagode (the song of the video). The pagode is a variation of the Samba music and Péricles is a great artist of this style.

Another point, this is Pagode, a strand of Samba like Partido Alto and Samba de Roda, that has been changing in the last decades becoming something more comercial and superficial.
