But for a change try making this Tasty poriyal recipe using peerkangai / ridge gourd and channa dhal. This protein rich side dish / poriyal recipe is a must try. Everyone will love the taste of this ridge gourd recipe. Unlike the usual poriyal recipe, adding cooked channa dhal / kadalaparuppu adds more taste to this side dish. Serve this yummy poriyal with sambar rice , rasam rice and karakiuzhambu.
Ingredients :
1. Ridge gourd - 400 grams (chopped)
2. Channa dal - 2 tbsp
3. Turmeric powder - 2 pinches
4. Salt to taste
5. Oil - 3 tsp
6. Mustard seeds & Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
7. Few curry leaves
8. Onion - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
9. Slit green chillies - 4 Nos (chopped)
10. Asafoetida - 2 pinches
11. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
12. Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
13. Few coriander leaves
