I think the message is that when you love someone people will disagree especially when you have nothing but their disagreements should be a push to prove your love, fight to change the circumstances in the relationship, most case being money other times it’s race, religion, beliefs whatever it might be. A mixture is pidgin and Igbo. And no, only the dad accepted him for the money. the girl and her mom were with him before he was rich. And thats the whole idea of the song. The girl was mad because she didn't care about the money she didn't want him to leave her...but he left.
