I mean honestly the Silent Hill 2 remake is like the best thing Konami has done since Metal Gear Solid 5. And yeah I realize they're also remaking MGS3 but that's literally a JOKE of a remake. The game STILL has map to map loading screens instead of having it be one big open world map and they're still using the same sounds, dialogue and codec calls/codec screen from the PS2 lmao. Everything Konami has done since Kojima has left has been an absolute joke.

@@jordan9689 I disagree with your last point. They kept the screen transitions and original voice recordings because they didn't want to risk ruining something that is special. Idk if you've played the original MGS3 but most fans were relieved the devs are keeping those things. The amount of remade content shouldn't be a metric, you should focus on how much the original experience can be improved, or preserved in the remake.

7:59 I absolutely LOVE the emotion that's conveyed here with this simple grin animation. It's like Lisa was merely observing Norman Reedus traveling through his personal hell (not even trying to mess with him this time around), and then after watching him get spooked by a random window falling and shattering, she finds it amusing just to watch him cower and squirm.

You managed to literally show everything from P.T.! Beside that Lisa is very unsettling to look at, the details you discovered are outstanding. And it’s insane that this „old“ demo is so polished. The behavior of Lisa and all the environment, without (normally) ever to see for the player… I’m stunned. This could have been the best horror game in ages. And Slippy, I’ve never seen a video about P.T. as good as yours. Awesome, truly.

I finally got to play this game on real hardware 10 years later after a lot of time and money, and I gotta say one that it is indeed one of the scariest games ever played. I had a theory where in the gouge it out loop, Lisa could only kill you one time because she would kill you if you turned around, but for players who couldn't figure out the puzzle, it would make the jumpscare go from really scary to really annoying if she just kept killing you every time you turned around in such a cramped corridor. So, she would only kill you once, but the threat of her still following you on the repeated attempts would still be present, pressuring you forward, but not annoying you with the kill and making it lose it's luster. I mainly thought this because I realized I've never seen anyone get killed twice on that loop, even if they were constantly spinning and turning around to trigger the death scene, and it would also makes sense because I've seen people criticize the jumpscare for, well, being a jumpscare, but thinking about it as if it was instead an opportunity to find a new scare with the bag, which would work only talk to you if you got killed by her, kind of like how the window dropping could be seen as just a cheap loud noise to startle you, until you realize that it's linked to another scare where you look up at where it fell and see that she's staring right back at you on the balcony, well it just made so much sense. Unfortunately, I couldn't even get that to work right because I couldn't even get her to kill me the first time. I spent a couple of minutes trying to get her to kill me, including spinning around for like 10 seconds, and with it resulting in her not killing me, it ended up scaring me more than if she DID kill me, so I don't even know if it's true or not since I couldn't even get killed and just solved the puzzle prematurely.

The atmosphere of PT will forever be one of the best in gaming. To think you’re trapped in some kind of purgatory, endlessly walking the same hallway haunted by the ghost of your pregnant wife who you killed, while it’s dark and raining outside. I don’t know man, that shit is just like a pure nightmare which is the feeling the game really conveyed perfectly. It felt like one of those nightmares you have where you don’t really know what the hell happened, but that feeling of pure dread is all you remember. I can only dream of a 8-12 hour game which has this feeling throughout the entire playtime.

Watching footage on PT after SH2 Remake came out really gives more hope for the future of SH. I watched the recommended video after this about the outside area (made 4 years ago) and he says ‘this may be the last of silent hill we’ll ever see’. Glad that prediction was wrong and I hope something similar to Lisa appears again in new original games! Oh and thanks for the video! Freaky as hell! 😮
