Thank you for demonstrating the button on the connector. All the other videos were like, "you just disconnect the plug ..." But I couldn't get mine apart.

I was actually looking for a video on how to get the sensor out since they are usually fused to the pipe. I havent tried to remove mine yet but this gives me hope! Like the other guy said i usually turn the ignition on 3 times in a row without starting to get the codes, and also you can clear a check engine light on wj by taking your positive battery terminal off and bridging it with the negative. Resets the whole computer. Thanks for the vid!

good video, but that denso brand part number does not apply to the wj 1999 model with California emissions, I share the part number for the wj 99 with California emissions upstream DENSO 2344635 and downstream DENSO 2344602, the wj 99 model it is a round connector, the 2004 model is a square connector, greetings 🙋‍♂️

Great video, thanks so much for making and posting. After I replaced this sensor, my check engine light went off on its own after driving X amount of miles (X being I did a couple errands driving locally/a couple freeways). For kicks and giggles I thought I would scan for codes and much to my surprise I still saw P0051 (and also P0152, a related code). Maybe it is a matter of time for everything to sync up and/or the Jeep's computer to process a clear reading? But it's interesting that my CEL actually went off but I am still scanning for the original codes that tripped the CEL in the first place.

Well at least on the plus side yours seems like it's running well. My WJ is a nightmare to even keep cranked while it's cold. It sputters, shakes violently, idles really low and shuts off until it gets up to full operating temp. Turns out all 4 of my o2 sensors are shot so that would explain it. Thanks for the video though, I'm gonna give it a shot and try to replace all of mine myself.

Great video but for the life of me I could not get that connector unhooked. I couldnt even get it out of the holder to drop it down far enough to get a grip on it. I cut the krap out of my hands and arm and I finally gave up.

Ouch. Yeah that is the downside to working on things underneath of the car...Things are exposed to a lot of elements and can be very hard to get apart sometimes. Which is why I was surprised when mine came apart so easily.

Hi, on my 2000 wj 4.0 im getting a Po172-Po175 oxy sensors 1&2 after i replaced all my 1 hole injectors with 4 hole injectors. Now running rich. I thought maybe the ECM was retraining for the new injectors but now im thinking it's the fuel pressure regulator which is in the fuel filter that i replaced 2 year's ago. What do you think?

Question - did you have to replace that sensor shortly after or did it end up working OK?

For these vehicles you don't need a code scanner. Simply turn the ignition on, the off, then on, then off, then on and leave it on and it will give you the codes. Let the odometer come on each time that you turn the key on before you turn it off.

My check engine light was on, code for O2 sensor. Is the sensor you changed the one that typically triggers the CEL? If not, how will I know which sensor? Thank you in advance and great video, super helpful!! 👍
@AmericanMadeClassics
@AmericanMadeClassics Жыл бұрын
The code will tell you which sensor is in question. In the video, I explain what each sensor is called. Such as "Bank 1 Sensor 1," would be calling for the Driver's side Upstream O2 (which means before the Catalytic Converter). You'll have to go back and rewatch, that information is in there! Good Luck!
