Things I have learned since making this video: 1. I had to replace my battery about 3 months later. The low voltage would indicate that the battery is not at full power, however, I don't think a low battery would throw an engine code. 2. That battery corrosion is probably also due to a dying battery and the terminals should have been cleaned off with water and baking soda. 3. If you want to go the inexpensive route, change the cam sensor first as it's about $40, clear the code and see if the check engine light comes back on. 4. The battery and the alternator work in tandem and when you change an alternator, it's really not a bad idea to replace the battery if you have the money.

Did the themostat fix the P0128??

The service engine light still comes on after driving steady for about 30 min. The reason given from the code reader is because the engine is not getting to operating temperature as quickly as the computer thinks it should. I think this is because I installed a low temp thermostat that opens at a lower temperature and allows coolant to flow too soon. I have been meaning to install a a Motorcraft (stock) thermostat and that should take care of it. Just for the record, I drove all the way from Washington State to Texas with the low temp thermostat and the code thrown - I've had zero problems with it.

did the replacement of the alternator fix the p0340 problem or did you still have to change the sensor?

Yeah it "fixed" the problem and by that, I mean it stopped throwing the error code. I will say though that if your alternator is failing, it's probably about time to change the battery too. Or maybe consider getting your battery tested and maybe replace it first to see if that fixes it if your short on money. I ended up changing the sensor too just because it was cheap, but it probably wasn't necessary.
