For the record: The rear spring pig tail ends are supposed to point towards the driver's quarter panel, both springs. Otherwise the car won't sit at the intended ride height. Great video brother, I've been subscribed for quite some time, hopefully you've picked up a couple of battery impacts & an 18" long 3/8's or 1/2" hand ratchet to make your life easier by now.

For some reason my master cylinder doesnt sit flush with the hydraulic. Only after i tight the bolts is that normal?
@notacarguy_
@notacarguy_ 6 ай бұрын
That doesn't sound normal. The two main bolts on the side should make it flush, but I could potentially see if the brake lines were bent or too long it might push up on the MS.

I bought Raxiom’s for my f150 and they melted after about 8 months, when I contacted Raxiom they gave me bs about just being a supplier for American trucks and I assume American muscle. American trucks was no help at all so I just soldered new outlets in and they worked. But they are cheaply made and overpriced. Probably should have saved up and bought some morimotos or something.

The service engine light still comes on after driving steady for about 30 min. The reason given from the code reader is because the engine is not getting to operating temperature as quickly as the computer thinks it should. I think this is because I installed a low temp thermostat that opens at a lower temperature and allows coolant to flow too soon. I have been meaning to install a a Motorcraft (stock) thermostat and that should take care of it. Just for the record, I drove all the way from Washington State to Texas with the low temp thermostat and the code thrown - I've had zero problems with it.

@@notacarguy_ nice. I did both the LED Tail lights and the LED third brake light. I actually did those first then the headlights. Most of the aftermarket LED tail lights don’t come with the needed resistors to make them work right, but I found some good ones that have heatsinks built in to cool them down and work great. Even your cruise control won’t work until the resistors are put in.

16:40 Instead of trying to install the spring and the control arm at the same time, try the following: 1) Support the rear axle with jack 2) Disconnect both struts from the axle 3) Lower/raise axle as needed to install both lower control arms 4) Move the jack to one of the sides of the axle and raise it up - this will cause the other side to lower. When the other side is low enough, install the spring on that side. 5) Lower the jack so the other side will raise up, putting that spring into position. 6) Repeat the process on the other side with the jack, raise that side to lower the other side, and install the spring. 7) Move the jack back the diff, raise it as needed to reinstall the struts.
@randomdude3066

All 4 bolts in my lower control arms were seized to the inner sleeve. No amount of muscle, breaker bar or impact gun action was going to work. I used a recip saw with a diamond blade to cut the bolts out. Each cut took 20 minutes. Pretty sure my arms are still vibrating. Since the rubber bushing was pressed up against the mounting surface, this meant I was cutting somewhat through the rubber too. That made a huge mess - rubber everywhere - and because of the friction from the blade, burning rubber smoke and smell.

It looks like you bled it twice. Do you need to do it before and after? This process is confusing. I swapped the cobra stock front brakes and lines with the big brake kit and tried to bleed the brakes with no luck. I’m assuming the m/c has air. Do I take it out to bleed it or do I bleed it installed?
@notacarguy_
@notacarguy_ Жыл бұрын
@@323smiles my M/C (on the GT) notoriously needs to be bled even after bleeding the brakes. You might have all the air out of the lines, but if there is air in the M/C, you'll get a mushing brake pedal. get the air out of the M/C and it should firm up. The M/C for the GT actually has bleeder valves on it so you can bleed after install. You may be able to get away with just bleeding it once, after you've installed it an bled the brakes. I went through the pre-bleed because that's what most people say to do, but it might not be necessary.

Well, considering that I initially put them in backwards, it took me a couple days to figure some things out. I would definitely give yourself 4-6 hours. If you have a power angled socket wrench, that can save you a lot of time (I didn't have one).

Hello, I read that you only have to clan the calipers (not to sand then before the primer), then apply primer, then sand the primer with 800, then paint and finally apply the clear coat
@notacarguy_
@notacarguy_ Жыл бұрын
That is correct. I only sanded first to take the texture off and make it smooth, which gives it a different aesthetic. Grinding/sanding first was more for aesthetic than getting the paint to adhere correctly.

@notacarguy_
@notacarguy_ Жыл бұрын
There is a little bit of space to the left of the cylinder. You need to have 2 wrenched (one ratcheting preferably). Put one wrench on the nut, then you need to have a wrench on the back side to keep it from turning. It's going to be small turns, but you'll get there eventually. I believe the bolts fit, but you should hang on to the old one in case they don't.

@@wrens114 This one is kind of annoying, but there is enough space on the left side of the Master Cylinder. You'll have to use short strokes and just keep working at it. The major thing here is that you'll need to use 2 wrenches. One on the nut and one on the bolt on the backside to keep it from turning. Does that make sense?

It was a package deal with LMR. The wheels and tires all came together. When I first got the car, I had 275 on the back and 245 up front. I think when you make the leap to 315s, you probably want a bigger tire on the front as well.
