I thought BMW was quite bad but man the stuff you have to remove to get to a thermostat housing on this Merc is insane.

@@justinmijnbuis Yes, it’s a pretty involved job.

An FYI for you is that MANN makes the oil filters for Mercedes. Amazon has them for $13 instead of the $30ish from dealer. My 2018 E300 uses HU711/6z. Exact same as filter from dealer.

@@twocross true, however $30 is your typical retail price that most people pay.

Great video, Would have been nice to replace the crank case vent valve that commonly fails while you were in there.

@@DEEuroworks Just subbed. You are very thorough and detailed oriented. Very enjoyable watching. Would love to know the miles on the cars you are working on to gauge when these failures happen.

@@sjohnson7735appreciate it, I am trying to make the videos better and more watchable, easier said than done :). This example had 93k miles. Thanks for the sub.

Hey man. Do you have experience on the m117 engine? I have new euro cams to install in my US model, sourced from Caribou Engineerinf and direct drop in with new rockers and setting hydraulic preload properly required during install. In your wheelhouse or nah?
@DEEuroworks3 ай бұрын
Don’t typically do older engines sorry.

This is crazy how much BS you have to go through for what should be a simple repair… makes me not want to buy a Mercedes. Yikes!
