P0307 Explained - Cylinder 7 Misfire (Simple Fix)

P0307 means cylinder number 7 is experiencing misfires.
A misfire occurs when an insufficient amount of fuel is burning in a cylinder. The efficient burning of fuel is essential to engine operation as the combustion of fuel is what provides the energy to power the engine. A misfire from one or more cylinders can be caused by many reasons from a faulty ignition system, fuel system, or internal engine failure.
When P0307 occurs, it should be fixed immediately as long term driving with engine misfires could cause consequential damage to your engine. Many times, P0307 occurs when there are worn-out spark plugs, spark plug wires, or a faulty ignition coil.

@@fixdapp I had a misfire in my 2008 Silverado. Replaced everything but the coil which was still good, was preparing for the worst, then I remembered that my wife's car has a similar issue, we replaced her gas cap. Which is what I did today on my truck, instantly solved the issue.

Try plugs 1st it's cheaper fix unless you're changing coil, plugs, injectors, & wires altogether!

2019 Ram 5.7 40k miles. Get this... fuel injector cleaner and a tank of premium gas. Pulled those plugs, cleaned tan and Once I filled up the 2nd tank of Shell 91 with the Chevron Techron Cleaner I disconnected the battery and went and ate lunch. Came back and was all good. 30 min highway drive and smooth as ever. I was told that fuel injector shuts of and throws that code. That unplug resets it and vamanos!

Thank you for sharing years ago!! First: I had a misfire that was diagnosed by my OBII as P0307 on my 2013 Suburban. Because a 5.3 Chevy has the odd number cylinders on the drivers side with the #7 to the firewall...I went there first to check plug and wire. I have been changing my own plugs since the 1970's...so am well aware of how to do it. And there is plenty of room to work. So what did my wondering eyes see? Before I touched anything I could see severe blowby on the plug. WHAT? To my (happy) surprise...spark plug cap was almost off...and spark plug was hanging on by a couple threads. Could I be this lucky? I was figuring lifters or worse. I had just changed the plugs in a 5.3 Monte Carlo and still had the old plugs. Cleaned one up and regapped and put in and it runs like a champ again. Sometimes the easy fixes seem too easy. Thank you for your video!!

Thats where the misfire is coming from. Could be , coil, plug or injector or a combination of 2 or all 3
