03 acura tl trans just started slipping no codes no cel. Lately when accelerating car is slipping, when stopping at a stop light seems like my torque converter is locking up and stalling my car at stops. Dies this sound correct, engine runs amazing only slipping and jerking between 1st and 2nd gear. Stalls at stops and only in d5/reverse low rpms. Once i rev the engine itll launch or drive off and slip a bit

I got a 17 ridge line with a p0776 clutch pressure solenoid stuck off. The oil is clean. This isn’t a electrical code. Service info says two things. Replace valve body with the solenoids made together. Next is stats that if you replace the valve body the code could come back because of internal failure of the Transmision. The valve body is back ordered till whenever!!! Have you ran into this yet. Thanks in advance for you help. Thanks for the tips on this trans to. Michael in Canada!

Yes I have seen a couple issues like that I know definitely on the Honda Odysseys and some Honda pilots after 2012 had lots of valve body issues they had recalls on some of them check with your dealership might be a recall. On the ridge line

I have a 2006 Saturn Vue with a Honda 3.5 V6 5 speed auto and 219,000 miles. I got this code. Trans shifts good still but I have had a weird situation on the highway in hot temps (Texas) after about an hour on the road. What happens is I lose MPH (power) and my rpm’s goes up. I also usually smell a hint of antifreeze smell. My car does have the radiator with the trans cooling lines. Should I just get rid of this? How much would a rebuild be etc? Any advice appreciated.

I have a theory, I have did a 3x3 transmission fluid change and filter, swapped the TCC solenoid and automatic clutch pressure control solenoid. After almost 1,000 miles in warmer temperatures outside (80+ degrees) the codes seems to pop up, no bad shifting or slipping but in cooler outside temperatures the engine is off for some odd reason (well for me). I’m thinking an secondary issue may be the transmission oil cooler

Sounds like your atf temperature sensor is malfunctioning, it's on the very bottom of trans by the engine mount is a nightmare to get too

So this mod would definitely help these transmissions? I've been watching your videos recently and I really appreciate all the good info you give us about these transmissions.I was looking at forums and videos about people installing aftermarket transmission coolers on the BAYA/MAYA transmissions but they don't really explained how they route the hoses. I am interested in installing one on my 04 Accord since I recently got my transmission replaced with a low mileage one, so I want to get the most out of this one. I was really hoping that I would at least make it to 300K miles with my original tranny but it decided to give up on me. I can't really complain cause this transmission held up pretty well for what it is. I've heard these transmissions had a lot of issues when they were first introduced, mostly internally wise. Most of the complaints come from transmission issues in the 03-04 Accords V6. The 06-07 Accord V6 had less complaints since I've heard that Honda fix these issues.@@bensautorepair9914

@britman1856_
@britman1856_ 18 күн бұрын
they technically DO have a torque converter control solenoid, BUT the way they have it designed is they use two of the shift solenoids to create the TCC solenoid. So if you go to a honda dealer, they wont refer to it as a torque converter control solenoid. They just call it shift solenoids. It can even be called a transmission control solenoid. Hope this helps.

@bensautorepair9914
@bensautorepair9914 8 ай бұрын
That is going to be a incorrect gear ratio code 90% of the time it's going to be a internal issue clutches welded together or the filter clogging. 98 to 2002 Accord is really bad about burning second gear up.. You can try flushing the fluid but my main suggestion is get it rebuilt

@bensautorepair9914

I would try changing the pressure control solenoid first aka linear solenoids You can also take it off clean it and adjust it tern both screws half a round clockwise.. Do the same with the lockup solenoid

Question, p0741 but isn't always on its after driving for some time about 45min to an hr it flares up shifting into what I believe is 3rd, and a hard banging downshift, and a hard reverse engagement with delay engagement after driving for a bit. No slipping in fact brakes the tires loose. I'm trying to help him out any ideas if it's the pressure switch?
@andrewturner852
@andrewturner852 6 ай бұрын
That can be caused by both of those solenoids or a bad torque converter also a bad torque converter clutch valve rarely can be caused by a bad transmission control unit but this would likely trigger multiple codes at once

@@andrewturner852 so it's likely the solenoid you'd say?
@andrewturner852
@andrewturner852 6 ай бұрын
@@alliesman9758 yes most likely the black solenoid next to the brown one you can remove it without pulling out the transmission from inside the engine bay directly under 2 coolant hoses it will be just behind the first solenoid you'll likely need a low profile socket wrench to fit in the tight space with that it can be done without remove anything else just make sure the engine is cool lots of very hot parts around these solenoids

@@bensautorepair9914 Thank you so much. This is a game-changer. I already changed the solenoid on the top of the transmission, thinking it was the culprit. I was wrong. Now that you mentioned, I looked up transmission for sale on eBay for 2007 and 2008 Acura TL and found that it is on the right-hand side. There are two, a black one and a brown one. I am not sure which one is which.

hey@@itspulinaaa did you ever figure out which solenoid it is for the torque converter? I'm running into the same issue here too
@itspulinaaa
@itspulinaaa 11 ай бұрын
@@alegz07 yes. TCC solenoid in 2007 and 2008 TL Lives inside the liner solenoid on the drive on the side. You’ll have to remove it and then remove the solenoid valve cover as well. Make sure you buy a replacement solenoid valve cover gasket before removing it. There are 4 solenoids inside. Two on the top and two on the bottom. Bottom left solenoid is the TCC (valve D) if you can find a diagram
@alegz07
@alegz07 11 ай бұрын
@@itspulinaaa thank you so much, I think I found it. its the solenoid that has both the black and gray that you remove and under those you have the 4 other solenoids. Hopefully it all works out and this is whats bad with my tranny, im sitting at 180k and hoping to get a lot more out of it without a whole rebuild! If so then it'll look like i'll have to learn how to rebuild a whole transmission myself lol
