I think the point trying to be made but not explicitly mentioned is how the wife on trial lied about committing adultery eventho she was caught in the act because in Islam the woman is given 4 opportunities to proclaim her innocence in order to encourage honesty and give women power against false accusations. This Islamic rule is of wisdom and is perfect when used with the right Islamic intention however in this scenario, the imperfect woman manipulates the perfect rulings of Quran for her benefit hence causing a miscarriage of justice for the husband, the Quran accounts for these injustices on the day of judgement instead. The problem is that ordinary people today do not understand equality. Those who said "all people are equal" simply demanded the same penalties for the same crimes. Only this and so much. These men continued to expect loyalty from their wives from their children to obey and from service to obey orders. it was only a matter of making the rich lord responsible for killing his servant as if he were killing an equal. Which was not so obvious. The thing is though we don't even have to justice polygyny to them. If they or any woman wants a monogamous relationship that's their prerogative. As Hijab mentioned they can put in their contract as the hanbali school allows. But even disregarding jurisprudential differences, the answer would be find a man who is ok with a monogamous relationship, but you can't enforce your marital preferences onto everyone else. If they're not ok with polygyny that's between them and whoever theyre married to or trying to marry.

If they want a monogamous relationship with some level of guarantee that their husband outside of his own word, will have to be religiously compelled to be monogamous that's fine, all you'll have to do is find a husband who wants a monogamous relationship too and is willing to put it into the marriage contract as a guarantee.

But biology role stilll relevant in this case even if they choose to not having a chilld at all. Women is the only role that capable of nursing and getting pregnant while men can't. Men is stronger in general and Women is better at linguistics field because of biology. That's why role is important, even in today's society there are more man accepted to the job that's involved physical work than women because of effectivenes. Women can do men job but sometimes not as effective as a man are, like men can do women's job but not as effective as women are.

You must educate the person about the Prophet (SAW), provide them a book of Seerah and explain why you are doing so - So that they can get to know the person who claims to bring this Abrahamic faith. How could he know that if the number of men exceeded the number of women , polygamy would still be accepted in Islam? Maybe not? Maybe God made this polygamy rule precisely because the number of women exceed the number of men. Maybe not, but at the end of the day, only God knows. Brother hijab firstly said that the reason behind polygamy is anatomical, biological and psychological reasons difference between men and women, without even explaining more or giving Islamic sources about that, and just 5 minutes later, he says that in fact this topic don't have an answer and we don't know the reasons behind it, just like praying 5 times a day. He's contradicting himself. It's either you know or you don't. You can't start giving false or unbased attempts reasons. I personally believe of what the girl talked about, I believe in the reason about wars and a lot of widows and also regulating polygamy , which was an already existing practice at the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Even though we don't have a definite answer on this topic, at least, to me, it makes a lot more sense than what Brother hijab is trying to explain. I'm also not fond of the way Brother hijab tried to make the widow/war arguments like a made-up argument only to justify second-wave feminism and calling it an "attempt of an egalitarian system" when the brother himself, with all due respect, can't make a valid argument on this topic. Because I think the widow/war explanation is a valid explaination that is based on Hadith , context of the times of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and other Islamic writings. You can't dismiss a whole explaination about a topic without any valid arguments against it. Brother Hijab didn't make my point of view change, I think he should have stayed humble on this topic and just say that this is a grey zone and we don't know the wisdom or reasons behind it.

I don't agree. First you say that the outnumber of women is not a reason of permissible polygyny but it would be nearly impossible to implement polygyny if it wasn't the case, unless women could marry more than one man. I'm not saying that is necessarily THE argument but that might be a reason why. Also, if islam was implemented perfectly, there would not be any form of injustice. Simply bc something that is not a sin is something that is part of islam, and islam is perfectly pure as it comes from God. So correct me if I'm wrong but if we say that islam is a perfect religion (on any plan) if we practice it perfectly then justice is perfect.

Really quickly the verse where it States in the Koran that marry your wives by ones twone's two's three's and four's but if you cannot do Justice by them Mary only one is actually stating that you cannot ever do Justice 2 3 or 4 wives so merry only 1 in my opinion based upon that verse God is saying Mary only one because you cannot do Justice by 2 3 or 4 wives.

In islam, we don't bring in subjective opinions like "in my opinion". The best teacher of the quran is Muhammad pbuh then his companions, the followers after them etc, and they all allowed to have 4 wives, if the man is capable of justice. Besides, just because YOU can't afford to make justice between 4 doesn't mean that there aren't men who are capable. don't downplay masculinity of men.

Once you admit that even if Islamic Law was implemented perfectly, we still would have injustice, that is also an admission that Islam is useless. If we're going to be judged on the Day of Judgement anyway, then there's obviously no point in Islam. Every religion has this problem (the Problem of Evil), none of them solve any problems, ppl just believe and hope for an afterlife. This is the ultimate childish thinking (blind faith).
