I'm not sure if this has any real effect on these people. Taking out a Bible, going to certain verses, and then questioning them about it. There are still other verses in there that they will go to, as the lady in the video does, because some verses do seem to strengthen their beliefs. So when you quote verses that seem to contradict those beliefs, their very theological understanding allows them to interpret those verses to be referring to the "100% man" part of Jesus. He can't do anything by himself, is referring to the human Jesus. He's going to his God and your God, again; that's human Jesus speaking. They can do that, they can use this type of absurd reasoning, whereby they can justify their beliefs and I'm just not sure what the point is in reading some of these verses to them and asking them about it. If they are not using their intellect, and they can just interpret one set of verses in this way, and the other verses in that way, then why even open the book? I think, and this is just my opinion, I think that you can leave the book alone, and simply deconstruct the trinity as a theological belief. If you can establish that a trinity isn't possible, then who cares what the Bible says, or which verses in in seem to be confirming this trinity to these people. It wouldn't matter to me if there was a verse in John that gave you the actual concept of the trinity. It wouldn't matter to me if there was a verse in John where Jesus is said to have claimed divinity (I am God, worship me). It doesn't matter if it's in there or not, I would still reject it, because that concept of God can't possibly be correct. You'd either take that approach, and demonstrate that a triune God is an absurdity, or, you take a historical approach, trying to construct an accurate picture of the social envirenmont at the time of Jesus, which is much harder to do imo, although not impossible. I hardly ever use the gospels, I just don't care about them. They'r ebooks of fabricated hadith to me, so why would I go through them, looking for verses that might agree with my personal views? I can't say I agree with this approach, even though it might be effective sometimes, or even lots of times. I think the theological approach is simply better, stronger, easier, and more convincing. The problem with that though is that it requires the other person (the christian) to have a reasonably decent intellectual mind, which can be problematic, obviously. Anyway, just my two cents.
