Brothers and sisters, we should not be talking about the women or Br. Hijab like this. Lower your gaze with your speech. The jokes are funny but many things are entertaining but still haram. As for the guy, saying he is friendzoned 'is' (I could not capitalise is and place it in bold for obvious reasons) objectifying the lady. And of course, I am not a feminist. But these points are true.

As a female I find this girl's nitpickings irritating. She takes offense at the word 'you' 'you can'... If you want rights to express yourself without judgement, give others rights to choose their words too. Stop dictating. Stop trying to be the victim. When he explained that in the Arabic language that you use hunna the feminine plural pronoun to address a crowd of majority females she flattened her feathers, "oh". She was hoping that the opposite would be true so that it could support her lame argument that every language is bias against women. Why didnt you rejoice then? Consider what she's whinging about... the word 'you'! Don't be so precious. You will get nowhere if you cant get past the word 'you'. The world has bigger problems. Actual problems.

Apocalypse Lol so true, and the sad thing is that women in Western society are subconsciously (and directly) seen and treated as a total commodity, rather than a human being. But when you are so blind to those obvious signs of objectification that exist everywhere in our society (from the revealing clothes that women are socially pressured to wear, to the pornography industry, etc.), you start ignorantly nitpicking about linguistic “pronouns” which is the least of your problems. It is not even a symptom of the problem, let alone the core of it. Smh. May Allah (swt) keep us steadfast, Ameen

As a woman or girl whatever you want to say, I get irritated when people say women wear hijab to protect themselves from men. I as a woman wear hijab because I love it. My mom never forced it on me, in fact I decided to wear a longer hijab because I felt more complete in it. The reason I wear hijab is because I feel that it is a sign of self-respect and dignity. I notice that men who have morality in them respect me with hijab rather than without it. I've had times when I'm just walking and a man will stop move to the side and look to the ground as I pass by him, and thats the respect you show a queen.

It's called being a children of someone. How can she even put that as example for feminism?? She is talking about no moral ground for women as some sort of feminism, like having multiple sex partner. But then she shouldn't argue the same about men. If she ever got a daughter, what kind of advise that she will give to her daughter? Never trust your father? Never listen to you father? Lol true she didn't have an answer to that. Personally when people ask me why I wear hijab I say its because Allah has commanded it from me. I don't think there's any point going down this route of giving people a reason for why we do certain things. I mean we are commanded to fast and pray and give charity but noone gives a reason for it, they just say that's what my faith teaches. Think the whole hijab debate is has been derailed a bit by emphasising the reasons of why women have to cover. Just say cause God said so. End of discussion lol.

Christopher Wells That's a weak argument in my opinion. Why should women have to dress a certain way just to avoid a reaction from men? In the case of men exploiting women, the problem obviously lies with the men, so why should women have to fix the problem by their clothing choices? By that same argument I could ask "why are men not covering their beauty up to avoid exploitation from other women/men"? or "why don't boys have to cover up to avoid exploitation from pedophiles"?.

Thats a point that struck me as well. Her position involves going out and assuming everyone is a potential rapist. Thats more likely to put her in a worse position as she's likely to get bullied for having a weird paranoid dad that goes around telling everyone not to rape his daughter when they have shown absolutely no evidence of having such a desire, *for the sake of progress*. It also assumes that the only thing that makes people rape is the fact that they haven't had someone tell them not to, which is ridiculous. People do these things because their desires become so strong that they no longer care about what they've been told is right or wrong. So regardless of how much 'education' you give someone, if they have the desire to rape and they are given the opportunity, if they are that way inclined they will do it regardless of the consequences. I doubt at that point they are even thinking of consequences.

@Best-bw4xr 3 жыл бұрын
@@shivangi93 My assumption is that she did not exactly live in a safe neighborhood. Society overall does not see rape as a acceptable act. There should never be a time that a woman deserved to be raped. However, the idea of a woman feeling sexualized when many of them want to dress "sexy" is hilarious to me. It is like saying I am going to jump in the pool but I don't want to get wet. This is why Islam teaches the man to lower his gaze so that he is not tempted, and it teaches the woman to dress modestly so that she doesn't get the type of attention she does not desire. Not everyone will act in moral terms in society. You do what you can to protect yourself. You are going to be cautious to walk around in a crime ridden neighborhood in the middle of the night. It is because you understand that there is a great chance you could be a victim. You don't run around saying teach the people to not be criminals. Society has laws and punishment because people don't act right.

3:18 I seriously don't get it. Do they not teach the basic difference between men and women anymore? Males are more visually attracted, that's how it starts for males as our thyroid gland releases hormones upon seeing a female. Female aren't nearly as visually attracted and touch is more at the forefront as to when their hormones release...how do people not know this? It ties into what Hijab was saying about slow burn and impulse. There is research explaining the release of the hormones, the gland, when it triggers, how much it releases... It makes sense they can't understand something as simple as men keeping their eyes down and women covering up, it starts with the visuals long before any touching happens so if you curve the behavior starting with the men and their visuals while curving the dress of the ones they are looking at, women, then you can help people...stay focused. I mean the species needs the desires so it will procreate, but at the same time if everyone is running around wild the men would completely subjugate the women no? It's like men have been hiding this information from her considering the way she asked. Great discussion otherwise, highlights how many of her issues are more with western culture/society or even Muslims and their questionable practices or lack of practise of Islam than what Islam actually is. Alhamdulillah for Islam.

When I didn't wear hijab, people didn't take it seriously when I said, 'No thanks, I'm Muslim'. When I put my hijab on, alhamdulillah they finally got the idea. Just like the women I saw walking down the street; just because they had blond hair or a short skirt, various guys in a van or a truck would honk and make vile comments as they drove by. Didn't happen to the women who didn't fit a various stereotype. There is a difference in how a woman is viewed and treated. I've lived it and I've seen it. Of course covering won't just 'stop rape', but this is about many other problems women face when they are gazed upon. Even the gaze to me is objectionable, not just the physical violation.

It shouldn't be that way. But it is. And if I know that, instead of pretending it doesnt happen and carrying on taking the garbage, I do something very simple - put on a headscarf. I dont care if you have a problem with that because it works for me and many other women who have the right to choose to wear it. It's a bit dumb for someone, for example, to not look left and right before crossing a road at a red light just because people SHOULD BE better drivers. @@wingchun6036 sweetie the fact that you just blamed women for what happened itself encourages these actions. I think you should go see Muslim countries cuz even women who wear burqas got raped. There was a study made in Egypt, it says that many harassers target Niqabi and hijabi women because they have this idea that she doesn’t defend herself and she is weak while the girl with liberal clothing will reply back to them and defend herself. I know this might sound stupid but unfortunately this is how many harassers think. Hijab is the first and foremost religious symbol that has a meaning and a purpose within a religious context, where a girls/woman’s hair are considered “awrah”. It is an Arabic word that literally translates means something is “defective” or “flawed”. This “something” is the female body, which is considered to bring shame or cause temptation and sin. Hijab is treating women as sex objects that in any case should be blamed in order to not arouse men’s desires. Thus, the hijab is also a symbol of the opinion that women are responsible for men’s sexual behavior against women’s bodies. It is also used as a way to control and limit women and girls freedom and liberation on their own bodies, because they will always be viewed as sexual no matter what “including hair” and even sometimes face “which is a woman’s identity and IT SHOULD NEVER BE CONSIDERED SEXUAL” so this way of looking at girls and women and their responsibility for men’s sexual desires aka “victim blaming (which by the way plays a big role in encouraging and normalizing rape culture” is based on direct gender discrimination against girls. So basically, anyone who believes that women can determine sexual violence by dressing modesty has never met men. You can cover your whole body and they will sexualize your voice. You can say nothing and they will sexualize your scent and existence. It never ends. So do you know what happens next? Every part of the woman becomes sexualized. Their hair, their ankles, necks, calves, wrists, hands, etc...! This has the inverse reaction by sexualizing women even more. It’s more objectifying. When I realized that women in hijabs were also sexually harassed and raped, and with all of that people still tried to find a way to somehow blame her, I knew it really didn’t matter ever once of who we are, because people will always find an excuse to view as sexual. You can’t go out to say that women are responsible for men’s sexual behavior, this itself is misogyny, because you allowed the justification of sexualization of women no matter what. So at the end, what I want to say is that if I have to cover my body for a man to respect me, then he doesn’t see me beyond a body, thus he doesn’t respect me. And the same thing goes on for “if revealing my body or getting naked in order for a man to respect means that he also doesn’t see me beyond a body, thus he doesn’t respect me”. We are more than bodies that have to be “covered up or revealed” for men. This control over women’s bodies is so patriarchal, there is no point of covering up or revealing for sexual intentions. Covering up or revealing my body should never be for sexual intentions, whenever it becomes for sexual intentions, this itself becomes objectifying and injustice towards women. And stop justifying rape under any circumstances, when you blame the victims and say that women are responsible for what men do with them, you are clearly justifying rape and harassment. And Idk where you live sweetie but in my country, any woman who doesn’t cover her face is seen exactly like the blonde girl who wore a short skirt that you just described. So they do use the same logic that you just used with the other women because as I said, it’s a cycle of sexual objectification that will never end since you allowed it in the first place. We will start with her Arms, then her legs, then her hair, and then face until saying that the woman’s existence itself is sexual so she shouldn’t leave her house, and this is happening in countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan! So please check yourself and stop generalizing your experiences, women with all types of clothing have faced sexual harassment, to keep on blaming the victim and justifying these actions with the excuse “men can’t control themselves” is the worst argument to ever exist because you are clearly dehumanizing women and treating our bodies as sex objects

@@randomgirl8792 Who the hell is going to read all that? I already mentioned that wearing hijab doesnt stop women from being raped. My point is that its BETTER to dress modestly than to not. It's a simple point you seem to have missed. And NO, hijab does not mean there's a defect in a woman's body. Quite a 'leap of logic'. You dont even have to be a Muslim to know that if my daughter walked down the street wearing next to nothing, she'd be treated differently to if she covered herself. It's not rocket science. And YES, I WOULD be partly responsible if I let her walk out late at night dressed scantily and something bad happened to her. Why? Because I KNOW bad things happen to women in those situations. They ARE more vulnerable. So if I know this, how am I being a responsible parent by allowing her to be in situations that are potentially harmful to her? And NO, once again, it doesn't mean the men aren't at fault. And THAT'S WHY if a man rapes a woman in Islam he is given the death penalty. And I teach women and girls martial arts and have done for years. Both Muslims and non Muslims are tired of liberalism.

I have read from Transgendermen (female trying to be male), that when they had taken testosterone for a while, the biggest difference was that their sex drive increased, and they wanted sex much more. So yes, men do want it more, so we are different. This is generally speaking of course. Furthermore, no one makes laws or rules based on exceptions, because there will always be one.

From a psychological perspective, subconsciously a woman's clout is attributed to youthfulness, and youthfulness entails beauty and fertility which is why she might be referred to as a "girl" in the mating context. With age she becomes less desirable, and not as fertile in the mating hierarchy. In the case of men, it's the complete opposite. Women start life with a great advantage, namely, sexual appeal, which is lost over time. "Boys", on the other hand start off at a great disadvantage, and have to work hard to reverse it. The desired state for a woman is youthfulness, hence a girl, and the desired state for a boy is manhood which is equivalent to wealth, power, influence and maturity. It goes a lot deeper than ideologues like this young lady and the white knight think. As for God being a He, the word Huwa is used for both He and It in Arabic. So in the case of Allah, we use Huwa. Ontologically however, Allah has no form, and nothing is onto his likeness, so to attribute gender to him is kufr/disbelief and will take you out of the fold of Islam.

Be careful, a form denotes a limitation of of some sort. What you are referring to is seeing Allah in Jannah, which all paradisaical creation will do, but it's not a form per say. There are some who attain that station in this world btw. When we say "Allah" what we are referring to is the total of all the divine attributes; existence being the domain through which all the attributes (Allah) become known, hint :).

On the language note it's important to realize that in contrast to English, all semetic languages have 2 genders - masculine and feminine; there is no neutral or neuter gender. The default gender to use is masculine unless the thing in question is feminine in reality (is of the female gender) or the word is considered feminine in the language, and in the case of arabic grammar all non-human objects are feminine in the plural form even if the singular form is masculine. - Nobody in the ancient world or today as a speaker of Hebrew, Aramaic, Arabic or otherwise would think that using the masculine pronoun for God implies he has a gender by use of the language itself; however if someone were to use a feminine pronoun it would In English using 'He' for God is also understood to not denote gender in the 'Abrahamic religions', except by proponents of anthropromorphism (if you believe Christ is God like in trinitarian christianity, then he is male under that belief ), or various polytheistic faiths that have dieties that are like the creation and seen as humanoids or animals. The only problem with using 'It' for God in English is that the pronoun is usually for non-intelligent beings like animals or plants, or for inanimate objects so it carries that connotation. Otherwise it's not a big deal really to use 'He' or 'It' if one's intended attribution to God is befitting to his uniqueness and perfection.

I regret to have to point this out, but I find the woman and the man kind of provocative. They have a sense that they are superior and that they are in possession of some kind of a moral high ground. You can't bring that attitude to a debate. You should make clear points to present your reasoning and not keep interrupting and throwing verbal jabs. It's also ironic that the man with her kept trying to defend her and interject. Does she need the man's protection or aid, and why did he feel the need to behave like that? (inescapable masculinity) You can't claim education and simply ignore the reality of the situation: that we live in a world where a lot of men are unlikely to be educated in that way, nor may they truly be God fearing. And so it makes very good sense for women to take precautions to protect themselves from evil that may surround them. The devil always tries his best to exploit a situation to encourage that which displeases God. The point is this isn't heaven, it's a worldly existence that will never be the idealism one may dream of. Allah understands both the male and female issues of living this worldly life - a designed test for the hereafter and where good and evil are in coexistence. The bottom line is as pointed out by Mr. Hijab - a women's test is not exactly the same as a man's. We are regarded equally but we are not the same.

Hijab for man in Quran: In Chapter 24 known as an-Nur (the Light), in verse 30, Allah commands Prophet Muhammad as follows: “Say to the believing men that: they should cast down their glances and guard their private parts (by being chaste). This is better for them.” Then say: “Say to the believing women that: they should cast down their glances and guard their private parts (by being chaste)…” “...and not display their beauty except what is apparent, and they should place their khumur over their bosoms...” So Quran first mention man to do hijab.
