P2015 fix VW 2009 TDI cheaply

how i fixed my DTC P2015 on my TDi CBEA 2009 VW jetta www.dieselgeek.com has made a part that is easier to fix. Mine is still going strong.

This is a great video. I removed the sensor and scored the arm with a dremmel in a circle for the e clip to slide onto. Works perfectly and saved me a couple hundred dollars. Thank you so much. Very insightful.

I might disassemble and check the Manifold flap actuator motor if the adaptor I'm buying off amazon doesn't do the trick. But, great video, and I'll be checking out for the need for the e-clip. Great tip! Also, on another video, actuating the arm on the engine side after removing the actiator, and making sure it moves smoothly eliminates the air intake main assembly as the problem.

I tested it with a screwdriver first but I had vcds to activate the motor so I knew if it was the motor or shaft connection joint. I did take the motor apart first and check the gears.

This really works .I had P2015 error on my VW Golf MK6 2.0 TDI and after a bit of struggle with this trick,error is gone and everything works great.Thank you for this instruction.

m glad it worked for you I'm doin the ERG low pressure filter soon P401 I get all the probes first since I put so many miles on her.

My 'dog bone' seems too thick for this fix. When the dog bone is pushed up onto the arm, part of the dog bone actually rides up onto the thick edge of the arm, so no room to compress it enough to fit an 'e' clip between the dog bone and arm. You didn't have to file down part of the dog bone did you?

So far so good but if you just need to get buy for a few months or year it does work, also I was trying to show the problem with my fix, I'm sure people will fix there own way

+Ryan Carpenter yes it's still working but diesel geek I think made a much easier fix than taking it apart I would buy that instead to each his own

I know this is 10 years ago, but does "off" mean the flaps in the intake are closed? or left open? I plan to disconnect the wires to this motor, but I'm hoping it will keep the intake flaps open while its disconnected.

i really dont undrestnd what exactly your saying but looking assuming right is driver side and left is passanger car, no i think? i thought the video was clear. i put the clip on the passanger side to hold the lever from sliding to far. no sure why this worked but it did. technically it should be on the ball but forcing it off the ball to the driver side works for me and most others.

yes I had the same code for awhile then I checked another time and a few more about the intake flap were added I erased and checked when the light came on. 008213 is what came back on.

This is a real find I was lamenting over changing the intake manifold. I had my motor off etc, but never would of come up with this! thinking that the clip should be on the other side of the rod as the ball (right side). The lever is on the left and the rod on right, there fore you want the rod to not slide to the left, thus clip on right side.... does this make sense.

Were you getting the 008213 VCDS code? I get the "008213 - Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1) P2015 - 000 - Implausible Signal - MIL ON" code. I know P2015 can have several VCDS codes for it.

Question 1 no, out was very easy the hardest part was the little spring(don't seer how it helps but put it back) three bolts and the arm. Q2 yes only one e-clip on the outside arm ion the motor side. Doesn't take a genius to do it

Any issues removing the flap motor? In the back there is a tooth wheel or similar. any issues with that during the removal and install?

Hi Ray, my skoda Octavia 2008 TDi has a V6 engine with error code P0215 (instead of P2015?). Do you reckon this eclipe will fix the issue? was thinking of getting this repair bracket from dieselgeek.com though its fit only 4 cylinder. Cheers

+HappyDrone In my experience P0215 is no the same as P2015. the computer wont get dtc codes confused like a person might. if you read P0215 unless there was a middle man I can't say. but from what I quickly looked up online, do not quote me but more to do with injection pump, maybe shut off solenoid.

Hi martinez i have a 2009 jetta 2.0 turbo manual and the check engine light just came on, turns out that is the p2015 code, can you tell me if this fix you have done on your car will work on my jetta and where exactly do i have to put that little piece of metal??? Thank you for your help!

Gas?. It sure but someone actually made an easier fix. Designed a bracket 60 bucks one screw done. It's hard to test without Software. They look the same gas and diesel flap motor I used a flat screwdriver to push the arm when it was going on/off e clip is The metal piece look at yours it will make sense.

When you received the p2015 code did it also throw codes for the glow plugs? Seems this is my problem on my 2010 Jetta TDI.

I do... DTC 0684 Glow plug control module. sorry, I didn't really catch how or where to put the groove or e-clip? and, where can I find those e-clips? Thanks!

Jim Yan I recently got that glow lug code bout to fix it, you can buy eclip any hardware store. I didn't measure just bought a few. Watch after 2:?? min you can see the e clip on the motor arm. The little line wasnt very good lighting

Jim Yan replaced relay bought from idparts.com took less than an hour. Its underneath fuse box. 1.Remove battery 2.slide relay out toward passanger car 3.unplug harness 4.remove relay from mounting bracket using torx t25 . Swap slide back in...

i have exactly the same problem. as the video was uploaded some months ago, could you please update the status? did the fault code apear again? as far as i hjave seen in some forums, the only option to this fix is changing the complete intake manifold! thanks in advance!

So far so good. I think it depends on how good the groove is, and if the e clip fits, it was just my first thought of how to fix there is e been other ideas.

Mine doesn't move at all. Ignition on or off and revving it with the car running it still doesn't move.

I used vcds to activate the motor otherwise I don't know signals or variables the ECU reads to activate the intake flaps. It's harder to trick newer cars than it was in the past.

I don't have the 2.0t gas. But look like boost sensor G31 probably have small hose and electrical connection on firewall likely don't quote me

+Ray Martinez Hej I made a check of the motor with my VCDS software and it works fine, the problems is that the motor get outside the reference value, so I made a thread hole in the motor so that it was possible to make a new stop for the motor when the flaps are full open
