It's weird... Why use an aluminum frame to save weight over the stainless steel frame of the P226 X-Five, then put on Tungsten Infused TXG Grip Panels to add weight???? Are they adding weight or saving weight? I do love the porting concept that they have brought over from the X-Macro/AXG Legion Comp.

Options. I personally prefer aluminum P226 over the steel, so I can yoink off the TXG grip panels, slap on some spare Hogue G10 SAO panels, use plastic baseplate mags (which I have a ton of), and have a good mid-30 ounce "duty weight" gun, or strap the weight back on for flat range use.

I have the first generation of this gun from a few years ago. My 226 MK25 and a P227 have been through the Sig shop for an action enhancement and they are lighter and smooth now. Better than the Legion. I have many of these P226s.

When I got my P226X5, the “5” was a 5” barrel. And the X6 was (wait for it) a 6” barrel. But I guess X5 is sexier than X4.4…….

I think this specific 5 is including the length of the porting on the slide which gives a faux barrel comp (kind of a gimmick 5in) but yeah 4.4 is still 4.4

I have the west Germany X-Five classic with steel frame. It's excellent. This X-Five Legion looks interesting too! But I gotta ask, why did Sig choose to go with an alloy frame? It can't be for the weight savings because the added tungsten infused grip panels make it as heavy as a steel frame! So why not just make it with a steel frame and get the benefit of recoil-reducing extra weight AND the durability of a steel frame? 🤔 It seems to me that the durability factor is lost with Sig's use of an alloy frame. I would love to hear Sig's reasoning behind that decision.

I wish they would come up with something new, look at the P3 65 and how many other models of the same gun can you actually make ,now they’ve done it to the P220 and now the P226. What’s next? It’s still the same gun with a much higher price tag. I love all of my SIGs however, they have no new models just remakes of the old ones. I bet next they will come out with a P226 Spector comp and then make that one in a legion as well.

OK. I have 2 of the X5s already. The first one is the ORIGINAL made in GERMANY and I bought a new model 2 years ago. Both are nice guns, a bit different but that us alright. Can't understand why this is ported. It is a 9mm so it isn't like it is recoiling a lot. Whatever. Doubt I will be ordering one any time soon. MAKE A STEEL FRAMED (or TUNGSTEN INFUSED FRAME for the X-10) 10MM and I will be ALL OVER IT!!!
