Just had a DPF. Full issue with my Disco Sport after only 15k miles. Probably my fault as I have being doing continuous short journeys over the past year or so. My independent dealer couldn’t force a regeneration so they removed the DPF filter and sent it to a specialist for cleaning. Expensive but a lot cheaper than replacing the filter. I also had the oil and filter changed too. All sorted now but a lesson learned, I need to make sure it gets a good motorway run at least once a month.

Just wondering is it ok to use wynns off car dpf cleaner in that way? I though the fluid was designed to be used when the dpf is removed from the car, left soaked for a couple of hours and then flushed with water.

Do you know what RPM settings the car needs to be at to start a routine regeneration? I heard you need to be driving at 2500 RPM and above 50 mph for the routine regen to take place. Is this correct? I never know if my car is doing a background regeneration. I try to go out on the motorway every 2 weeks and do a 45 mins - 1-hour drive doing 60-70 mph. Put it in S mode and run in 5th or 6th gear ( I have an auto ). Should i be getting the RPM up to 3k? Seems you are thrashing it about a bit. Thanks

As far as I'm aware there is no required rpm for the vehicle to self regenerate.

i have a problem with a mk2 ford kuga where the soot level shows high. the car won't do a regen looks like the vaporizer has failed. if i had the soot level cleared with the diagnostics does it re read the soot levels as was going to do a clean out till the part arrives next week and can get it fitted. have thought about the dpf delete and egr.
