I miss playing this game and having my ma watch me wander the Mojave, shooting up Legionaries and hoarding Sunset Sarsaparilla. I lost her this summer and I know things won’t be easy, and they never will be. This isn’t just a game to me anymore. It is a lifelong callback of the best person I ever knew. Love you ma. (Edit) Whelp it's been a year, still alive I guess. Got a job and a car. My copy of FNV Ultimate Edition got scratched a few months ago and I haven't been able to play, so I've been playing 3 instead. Both are great, but one definitely had more flavor to it. This song always takes me back to 2011-12. I was deep into New Vegas at the time I started dating someone, and after a rocky couple years together we finally split. Playing New Vegas wasn't the same for a long while after that, and this song in particular was like a stake to the heart because she would sing along to it while sitting and watching me play. She was a fuckin nightmare tho and I ended up realizing that it was a toxic relationship and I was way better off without her. But this song still occasionally makes me smile at the rare good times we had together.

Man, I stumbled upon this game watching my cousin play it on his Laptop back in early 2014. Bought it for my 360 the summer of, and I no-lifed it for MONTHS. Many playthroughs, lots of trial and error, killing and discovering. Almost 10 years have passed, and here I am still playing it and loving it the same way I did back when. I miss the Mojave. I miss the love I once had. When I was younger, I met a girl we’ll call J. Me and J when steady up until I was 17. Our relationship was rocky because of choices I made; but never restrained my love for her. The day she left, my heart was in crumbles. A crucial part of me was gone. She didn’t know but I began drinking heavily since then. It was a problem for a long while but when I found New Vegas and heard this song, it felt like it was just so right for me. I shared FNV with a longtime partner, and this was our second favorite song together after "In the Shadow of the Valley". We would joke about playing it as a first dance at our wedding, despite its sad lyrics. Ironically, it became too on the nose as she would later cheat on me and leave me for my "best friend". It used to be difficult to listen to again, feeling so darn bitter about how it all fell apart, but after putting my life back together, the sweetness comes back. The melody is so much stronger than (or maybe in spite of) the memories.
