hi there, just bought a Dacia Jogger Extreme here in the UK and a thing that has been annoying me with the audio system, see if you can help. When I get into the car and turn the engine on no audio comes on at all itself, i have to manually press the audio on the screen then select the source button for it to play music from my connected USB memory stick with my songs on it. Is there a way to start the music as soon as the ignition starts ? Thanks in advance :-)

Sorry, I don't know of a way to do that. The FM radio, yes, but a USB memory device? Nope. I will look at that issue though and if I find a solution, I'll post it back here. Thanks for watching #HowToBloke 👍

With nothing plugged in the dash USB socket, tap radio on the LCD panel and play any radio station. Without switching the LCD panel off manually, stop the engine, exiting the vehicle if you wish. On the next journey, restart the engine and the radio *should* come alive again playing the same station at the same volume as when you left it. Works for me! 👍

Would you know the charging procedure is for the battery if it becomes flat? no one seems to know as apparently you should not disconnect it from the car. I'm asking because I only do short journeys

Hello, I've looked at the battery fitted in my Dacia Jogger and the label on the top of it says; ------------- Renault Nissan 12V L2 EFB 60AH 510A (EN) MF Enhanced Flooded Battery Special Technology 24410 5944R Made in Romania ------------- My French handbook that came with the vehicle says (at page 5.48) that I would have to re-initialize the power steering if the battery was removed (on page 1.102) and tells you how to do that. Whether or not the infotainment system or any other vehicle settings stored in any memory would lose its settings if battery power was interrupted - I don't know. Not tried that. Information on the WWW appears to suggest that you need a smart or intelligent battery charger to charge a Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB), but at what charging rate, and whether the battery must be removed to do that - I have no idea. Sorry I can't be of more help. Next time I'm near my Dacia dealership, I will make some enquiries.

Hello, I called into the local Renault/Dacia shop (my 2009 Renault Scenic is in for a, “Controle Technique” [ M.O.T ] ) today and asked a mechanic how one should charge the battery on the Jogger. He said at just 2 (two) amps using an intelligent electronic charger designed to charge that particular battery type. Sorry, I didn't get a chance to ask him about whether one can charge the battery in-situ or if you have to disconnect the battery to charge it because he was well busy with another customer. With regards to the Jogger's battery removal, the procedure to re-calibrate the steering is detailed in the owner's handbook (rather than in a workshop manual) so it can't be a too difficult a job? Maybe I'll give this a go myself one day and see what happens/needs to be done after I reconnect the battery. Will removing the battery cause a lost radio code? - I don't think the Jogger's infotainment system has such a thing because it's built-in, but I could be wrong on that perhaps! :) 👉 Removing the battery on modern cars is always problematic because of the question about how much of the car's system functions are programmed into volatile memory (memory that's lost if battery power is disconnected). If you do get much better info on the Jogger battery charging issue, do please add it to this thread. 👍
