A few thoughts. The window cutout looks like a better design than the one from Sig Guy. You could use the FCU pin to lock in place instead of a drill bit. Never hammer on the cutting end of the drill bit.

This is an awesome kit! It’s cheaper than buying a new grip and it’s cut out in the perfect spot. This template is a great idea and saved me from having to remove and reinstall my Hogue grip- which would have been a pain in the neck. Just a FYI- after I drilled out the frame and installed the fire control group, the safety would engage every time I racked the slide. The fit was a little tight, but I just filed it down a little more and now it works flawlessly. Thanks

Just did the holes with a marker and pocket knife. Was super easy to do. Was stressful cutting my Icarus aluminum module with a pocket knife though. Came out clean

Did you cut the Evo or Hybrid grip module? Any issues with the safety scratching/rubbing the Icarus grip? Hard to get a pic of them with manual safeties but I thought the manual versions had a rectangular slot milled into the grip from Icarus to prevent scuffing? Thanks!

I bought your kit and successfully installed a manual safety on a Sig P365 XL. One point of note, you did not make mention of the safety lock spring and detent pin installed into the manual lever. I went to the Sig Guy's KZbin channel and found information about that. His tips proved helpful on installation, pin positioning, and lubrication of the lever. If folks just buy the safety lever and not the spring and pin, it's not going to work. Fortunately one can buy the safety parts kit.

You should sell them on Ebay as a complete kit......with the safety lever and springs included.... you would sell them like hotcakes.....I for one, did not like manual safeties when I purchased mine......but have now changed my mind......your kit solves that problem......

LOOKING FOR SOME ADVICE These are helpful jigs for cutting the manual safety slot into a grip frame. I have done this with a P320 in the past and more recently a P365. Regarding the P365, I have a P365 XL and recently acquired a X-Macro grip frame. I used one of these jigs to cut the manual safety slots and removing a little bit of the width at the contact point of the manual safety. I put it back together and my slide stop/release will not work while there is an empty mag in the grip. It stays in the lock position, and will only release with some very aggressive manipulation while I pull the slide back. Is there some more dremel tool trimming on the grip that I need to do so that this will function properly?

Interesting, the factory manual safety on my X-Macro will engage on an empty mag. The only condition that it will not engage is when it is de-cocked.

Thanks for the video. Worked perfectly on the p365 standard size and perfectly on the p365XL. However, on the X-Macro, it seems the frame is a bit thicker the the others and the manual safety does not fit inside the frame. Did you experience this or figure out a fix? Yes, It can still fit with just a little trimming under the safety lever area. I ordered a new xmacro grip module so i can make a quick video to show the process. I'll post it asap.

Anyone used this template to cut an aluminum frame? Imagine you'd need a different bit to cut the aluminum. I'm considering adding a safety to the Icarus Precision Macro frame.

The bits should be carbide if you buy the suggested ones. It'll cut the aluminum like butter. Honestly even burrs made from HSS ( high speed steel ) are much harder than aluminum. So I wouldn't hesitate to use what you have. The biggest problem comes from the tool chattering and cavitation. A steady hand and slight passes can prevent this.

The actual cutting bit is a carbide burr. Search for " dremel 9903 " dome depot sells them for around 10$

How do you have the dremel cut only the module, but not cut into the template, causing the module cut to be excessive?

Use a light touch. You can get a few cuts from one template if you go easy. Tolerances are such that a few thousandths of an inch over won't affect anything negatively.

@@IFLYRV10 Thanks. I found that for an XMacro, at least, the templates were a necessary tool to get started, but the cut was not deep enough. I had to remove more materials to allow the FCU to sink in fully so that the rear pin could be inserted. But I could not have gotten started without the templates. Also the walls of the XMacro grip module are too thick and interfere with the safety levers as I was trying to drop in the FCU, so I had to remove material there too. Finally all dialed in and functional tests working though, time for range test. So first the problem was the grp module walls, then once those were out of the way of the safety levers, the next fitment issue was the module cuts which were not deep enough from the templates. I had to go deeper and a little more to the rear.

After I reinstalled my 365 FCU I noticed that with the slide locked back, disassembly lever down and safety engaged it won't let the slide go forward for removal. My safety must be disengaged (down) to remove the slide. Is this normal? I can't remember if it was like that before.
