These are all great combos, I think I'll have to lab a lot before I'm able to do his diving routes. I honestly don't think I'd ever be able to figure them out or find they exist without this guide.

Yeah, unfortunately the challenge mode doesn't explain dive loops, that's why I wanted to make a few vids to show Aki's crazier stuff

Great guide, never would have found these combos without you. I'm having trouble getting the hop after 8A in the later combos though. Is it just a jump cancel, or is there something I'm missing? It's possible my timing is just shit :P

Sorry, I forgot to define it, but "hop" means 2AC. Usually it's called short hop in the community, so the input isn't listed.

Old video, but figured I’d ask this question: For the CH 5B > j.214B route, what do you do if you don’t get the 2 hits of the j.214B? Going into 8B the combo counter should be at 4, but sometimes you’ll get it where the counter is at 3. The spacing gets weird when this happens. I’ve been messing around with doing a D duck vs a C duck but it still gets weird on the 4A > 8A spacing. Any input?

D duck seems to work. Although if you're not getting 2 hits with j.214B, that means you're either doing it too fast/not jumping high enough, you're not jumping forward, or you're not hitting 5B close enough.

@@katsucurry5777 Ya I think it’s that I’m doing it too fast. It’s a bit tough doing a forward jump to 214 motion on pad as well, so I try to get away with a neutral jump because I can stay on the Dpad easier that way. Doing a 9 jump on Dpad is kinda odd, and doing it with the analog stick is also tricky whether I stay on the stick to do 214 or try moving my thumb back to the Dpad for 214. That should work...? So after the 236AB does the 4B drop? or is it only the 8B?

Why do you need 4C before 6A? Is it for the cyclone counter?

Technically you don't NEED it, as it doesn't have that much use midscreen, but if you're close to the corner you can get a lvl 5 Cyclone Uppercut.

Thanks so much for the very indepth and easy to follow video. This definitely sped up the learning process for akihiko for me. There is one thing I am having issues with though. On the counter hit punish string you have to do slight delay 8A > hop > j.B. I for some reason cannot get the hop and I do not know why. Is it just jumping after the 8A? Or is there a cyclone input I am unaware of...?
