Small tip for the combo at 0:22 - I find that I have more success with it when I do IAD > (slight delay) j.BB as opposed to (slight delay) IAD > j.A > j.2B. This also removes the need for the roll as well.

Nearly all P4AU2 1.1 combos still work, so definitely check out the older resources out there.

Dude actual godsend for having pressure strings and oki setup notations too

Definitely check out bite loops, too. I didn't include them here since they aren't new to 2.0, but they're a very powerful tool.

Damn how did I miss this, thanks for the Shadow Labrys content! If you don't mind me asking: From your description I gather that most of the stuff you show is about experimenting with the changes in 2.5, and not about being "best" or "most optimal". Still, I'd like to know which of these combos and mixup you consider particularly good. Like, in a tournament, which of these would you use to tryhard your way to victory?
@TheYambino2 жыл бұрын
When this version came out, I was especially concerned with being able to cash out damage, since I immediately noticed several routes to cash out didn't work in this version. So I think knowing how to cash out off of any (or most) starters will always be useful, which is why I showed so many double ax cashouts. As for the mixups, I wouldn't call any of them particularly amazing. They're the kinds of mixups that might work once on a good player, but not something that can be spammed like her corner laser oki or bite loops. The first combo had great corner carry due to asterius' punch wallbounce midscreen. That one is very useful to setting up into the aforementioned oki.

1:33 Any advice to cancel de 2c into titanomachia?
@TheYambino9 ай бұрын
You cannot buffer titanomachia before 2C. It will always give you 214C instead. So it really comes down to buffering 236236 right before 2C comes out and press C as soon as the opponent is struck. The earlier titano come out the better

do you play on an arcade stick? I've been trying to learn her for a bit now on my ps4 controller and it seems like it'd be easier on one, or what I'm trying to ask, do you think it would be easier to learn her on an arcade stick? btw you the goat fr

If you have an arcade stick, then that's usually the way to go for most fighting games
@TheYambino2 жыл бұрын
I actually play on a playstation 3 controller (I think the d-pad is more comfortable). Shabrys is definitely playable on pad, but make sure to map the bumpers/shoulder buttons. I map grab, burst, omc, and roll/air turn to those. Its good to learn the relationship that asterius has to mapped buttons versus pressing 2 manually. Edit: another big thing is make sure that if you remap the A B C D buttons, that combos involving asterius are still comfortable. Some might be akward to perform if you have to stretch across square and circle for example. Mapping a shoulder button to C or D can also be a good solution if youre willing to learn that layout.

@@TheYambino yeah, in the meantime I've been getting the hang of her. I found that using the blazblue abcd layout makes her combos much easier, with aot on r1 and throw on r2, mostly to ex moves. and thank you, this guide and the notations are hard to come by these days and you definitely pulled through

for the air turn guillotine stuff sometimes i either get the third hit so no knockdown or they get stuck in the 8C and dont even get dragged to the ground
@TheYambino Жыл бұрын
A few things are at work here. When you first launch the opponent in the air, make sure you are pretty close to them when you drag them to the ground into the 8c. This will set your positioning up for the next drag down. Once you land, buffer a short dash forward as soon as shabrys is actionable. Wait for her to stop slightly before jumping into the airturn. If you did this part right, your positioning should be perfect for the drag down. Next is getting the muscle memory down to perform the airturn jB 214A timing, which really just takes practice. But the airturn timing won't work consistently if your positioning from earlier was off to begin with.

I can not for life of me get 28cd to land after.the super consistently
@TheYambino Жыл бұрын
The timing depends on which Axe super was used. For the A axe super, you have to command asterius before the opponent is launched. For B axe super, command asterius right after Shabrys gets pushed back. For the crossup B axe with 28CD, command asterius as soon as he is actionable (after he emerges from the ground and sets his head back).
