''Pașa Hassan'' (Pasha Hassan) is a cult ballad written by George Coșbuc, in 1885 but it was published for the first time in 1895. This version is sung by the Transsylvania Phoenix group.
The Battle of Călugăreni was a battle in the history of early modern Romania. It took place on 23 August 1595 between the Wallachian army led by Michael the Brave and the Ottoman army led by Koca Sinan Pasha, which ended with a victory for Wallachians.
It was part of the Long Turkish War, fought between Christian and Ottoman forces at the end of the 16th - beginning of the 17th centuries.

''Pașa Hassan'' este o baladă cultă scrisă de George Coșbuc, în anul 1885, dar a fost publicată pentru prima dată în 1895. Această versiune este cântată de grupul Transsylvania Phoenix.
Bătălia de la Călugăreni a fost o bătălie în istoria României moderne timpurii. A avut loc la 23 august 1595 între armata vlahă condusă de Mihai Viteazul și armata otomană condusă de Koca Sinan Pașa, care s-a încheiat cu o victorie pentru valahi.
A făcut parte din lungul război turcesc, purtat între forțele creștine și otomane la sfârșitul secolului al XVI-lea - începutul secolului al XVII-lea.
