Also back in the 70's I got 65 bucks for a female 40 for a male,that was alot of money back then,a beer was 50 cents,I could buy 130 beers for 1 fisher.

Typically they will not take their kill very far from the kill site. But male fishers can have a range of 30 miles.

Looks like the fishers are doing great. Step 1: get rid of outside cats. Studies have shown that America's outside cats kill over a billion native birds annually. They also kill prey species that native predators rely on.

Outdoorsman maybe, but you're not a trapper. You won't find a Fisher going through a running water culvert. You were lucky to catch one in a buried leg hold. Sorry to say but that one is not prime. A prime one is solid black and nothing more. The single most productive set for Fisher is a leaning tree set using a conibear. Second is a conibear guarding a natural cubby in rocks. In the Adirondacks back in the 70s a friend would frequently catch 25 or 30 using nothing but those two sets? "Live long and prosper"

Well if you were educated on current PA trapping laws you'd know we can't use either of those sets....also our limit is 1 fisher per season and if YOU WERE a trapper you know setting on sign is king. So that coupled with our limit of 1 is the reason I don't run many sets. So maybe educate yourself, pay attention to the video, and expand horizons before you TRY to bring someone down...really only making yourself look foolish Also, culvert set was for mink or rats...not fisher.

You used mink and FISHER as an excuse for setting at the culvert?? Sad that PA needs money bad enough to create such rules and regulations. I suppose they require a special license, tags etc to justify charging you for the "priviledge" of taking one Fisher? This vlog will probably earn you more than that sorry pelt! If I were a trapper; I'm not, but if you'll read my original comment you'll notice the year 1970 mentioned. (well before you were born) I'm fortunate that I lived 32 years in Hamilton County, NY. The wildest place West of the Mississippi. Even the skunks and possums avoid it. Look it up. We didn't hold much concern for NYS Encon regs, and rather enjoyed messing with the minds of their game wardens.

@jackriley5974 the reason I could set that there was because it was in a water way and submerged in water. We cannot set them on dry ground. And I agree with on it not being fully prime but again thanks to the great state of pa, we only have 7-10 days that we are allowed to trap them. And yes, you have to buy a special tag for fisher in pa as well.
