My dad had a couple of different beagles that wer e good on birds when they got one you had to run after them and he also had a golden retriever-irish setter mix that I shot some birds off of but where I moved to there are only a few stocked birds for a short period and too many hunters after them I hunted grouse with two diy labs I owned and it was fun now my bird hunting consist of hunting turkeys alot of goog memories

In the 1960s 70s and 80s we had tons of pheasant and grouse in my part of Pennsylvania, no dog needed to flush them,

I grew up in the 50's and 60's here in Columbia County, PA and back then the first day of small game season was just as big a deal as the first day of deer season; maybe more so. Lots of rabbits and pheasants in the fields and grouse, quail and squirrels in the woods. My dad and one uncle raised beagles for hunting and I enjoyed your video of hunting behind a dog again. At age 74 I can still get around but I can't move thru the brush like you need to to follow a dog on a scent trail, rabbit or pheasant. I gave up following the beagles about 5 or 6 years ago so I enjoy watching a hunt like this immensely. Thank you for inviting me along!

What game lands do you hunt.

I hunt a lot of different Gamelands. This spot was up north

We hunt a lot of the middle if the state. Hell maybe I even bumped into you and didn't know it. Lycoming, union, snyder, Northumberland counties

Allenwood my friend is where it is at around here bigger than it looks on the map. We don't have dogs and we make out great.
