Thanks for the nice words, Bowtie RN. It's a really good shaver! Really nest nostalgic vibe coupled with a wonderfully smooth, mild, efficient shave. Again, it feels durable and, due to it's lighter weight, appears that it would travel well.

Hello Mark, the mystery of the razor the Artifact is based on is now kind of solved. Yesterday it was possible to find together with Subie and Douglas more information. But I leave it to Douglas to unveil it. I must say that the Artifact is a very precise and detailed reproduction. Please check out the new version of the Greencult by Fairschenkt from Austria with its four base plate options, the Greencult GC2.0 . I think the mildest base plate with blade gap of 0.45mm and an exposure of 0.05mm could be just right for you.

Awesome video as always, Mark! Very cool razor! Another fun fact about Bakelite: It was also used on electric guitars and gear from that era, Fender musical instruments used a lot of it on their guitar parts and amp knobs. 👍

That razor is a beauty. I have PAA's original Bakelite OC slant. It is a wicked little razor. With those super light razors the tendency is to use too much pressure.

Morning Mark. Just about every KZbinr seems to have received the new razor from PAA.I am eagerly awaiting the release. I have several of their other razors and find them to all do a good job. I bought the Super Slant razors a few years ago and because of the very light weight had to change the way I shaved a little. This razor looks to require the same technique, no pressure just shave. I'm into vintage wet shaving stuff, so this will be a great addition to my shave cave. I think that the release will be on Black Friday, just a guess. enjoy the rest of the week and be safe.

John, not sure of whenthe release wil happen. Hopefully, soon. Yes, there is a bit of change p due to the lighter weight. Still a very nice shave. I love the PAA Monster slant razors. Used one yesterday and got an awesome shave. They are perfect for home or travel.

I just got around to shaving with mine today and while it was nice for me it's just too light. I like a heavy razor that I can throttle which is why I like the copper ascension so much. For me the artifact just felt too mild and I like an aggressive razor so it just didn't do it for me. May break it out every now and then but I'd definitely recommend it for someone who likes a more mild razor or is new and might be intimidate or not have the technique yet for some of the more aggressive razor's in the PAA lineup. It also makes a nice collectible/display razor if you want something that just looks good.

Curio, all good points. Yes,,the Artifact is lightweight and a milder razor. I agree, it's a nice razor for anyone starting out with the traditional wet shave. I also prefer a razor with more heft, but the Artifact and PAA's Monster slants are a nice change of pace. Agree, that is makes a nice collectable.:)

I have looked for this online and don't see this available at all. Is this a razor that are only given away but not for sale ? Or does PAA pull a Henson and only sell them to specific retailers or hide the offer in a wet shaving forum? If they are pulling a Henson AL 13 move, I'm not interested.

Brian, I'm not sure why the link and page are not yet available. I saw a video (which I used in a previous 3MB) of the Artifact razor for sale at the Idaho Falls Wet Shave Meetup. Douglas also had another new razor there called The Quantum.

@@DouglasSmythe Thanks for confirming Douglass, much appreciated. I have spent a lot of money on PAA products, because PAA soaps an splashes are among the best in wet shaving IMO. However, the razor availability seems a bit inconsistent or consistently out of stock. I'm pretty new to this wet shaving thing, so sometimes I need to ask people "In the know". Henson, one of my absolute favorite safety razors seems to always have inventory, communication and release problems (AL 13 aggressive and Ti22 always out of stock). The community told me this was typical for Henson, I didn't know if it was also typical for PAA razors as well. That is the background as to why I asked the question is all. Sometimes, you just have to be "In the know" in this community to get cool products ! I see Marks channel as one of the most informative for new products, so that is why I often ask here. If I didn't like PAA products, I wouldn't bother to ask. 😀
