He takes only 5 lakhs because rose promised raghu paswan to give him 5 lakhs also in the scene where raghu's friend are asking him for their 10k for taking his rickshaw raghu clearly mentions that he didnt get money he was expecting so he isnt able to pay 10k right now and that child is son of raghu paswan so in the end hathiram has a dialogue "itna hi uske haq ka hai" which is 5 lakhs promised by ross to raghu paswan thats why he only takes 5 lakhs

I have a prediction that he will do a stable job like Srikanth in family man season 2 and then SHO VIRIK ( Anurag Arora ) will try to get him back as we saw after death of Ansari the makers tried to cut down the bitterness between SHO and Hathi ram as we saw on the last episode while they were having kulfi near the area where Raghu was buried and they had a fun banter so i think both of them will work as team in next season . or any other junior might join Hathi ram for next case for training under him because i think he needs a partner .

season 1 was very deep and dark and mystery was also very tangled but season 2 was very good in character development, not using plot armor for the characters and story was simple but unexpected.The characters i hated during watching , i felt the pain for reubam,rose,sp,raghu. I was not able to expect the next plot.It was more for audience like oppenheimer,fight club,etc. I loved the season by implementation,characters and complex plot.Waiting for season 3
