DON'T EVER STOP BEING WHO YOU ARE MORGAN. You love each and every animal on your farm with all you have. I respect you so much. To show raw emotion online like this is not easy because humans are arse holes, but not all of us are. You are the best kind of farmer there could ever be. You are a good human. Thank you for sharing your stories with us.

I know, how painful it is to loose animals and I was going to post this comment. I lost my cat named Mavis, a couple of weeks or a month ago, not because she died but because my mom put her up for adoption on Instagram, I found out the day she was getting adopted I miss her so much. I’m still adjusting to the fact she isn’t here anymore. ❤️‍🩹

Seeing you break down over your animals further increased the amount of respect I have for you. Most men won't express emotions in general, especially over animals. It shows your humanitarian side, and gives me hope that others have that kindness in them.

Just lost one of my 15 year old senior Chihuahua. Saddest part was that she was so loving and caring for me even knowing that she is going to die. She would follow me every time I go scoop out the dog kennel poop making sure I was protected. I didn't put her down and had her on tons of pain killers instead so she can enjoy life to the fullest until she dies from natural causes. If you cannot bring yourself to putting down your dog then you can put them on animal painkillers as well as giving them *Hemp Supplements.* However if your dog was to have a severe vital illness that can't be saved then do put them down since painkillers won't be as effective.

Yes. My dad was a farmer since he was a kid. But, I remember him feeling so bad about a cow that needed to be put down. He stopped everything else and spent his entire time with her, petting her, and telling her what a good cow she'd been for all those years. He refused to entertain someone even suggesting that she be butchered. This made me love and respect my dad so much.

Oh I've seen my father, brother and husband cry over our pets. I don't know how my husband would handle losing our dog. He calls him his first born son lol. My husband would probably go into a depression if we lost him. Human beings bond very strongly with creatures, big or small, even plants or objects. We are more complicated emotionally than many realize.

I just lost one of my 15 year old Chihuahua dog a few days ago due to old age and possibly unknown cancer. I couldn't put her down since I didn't want to have the right to end her suffering as she loved my family so much. I had her on tons of pain killer and Hemp supplements to lessen her pain until she finally passed away. Sometimes it's better to just let your senior elderly dogs go instead of trying to grasp on them to live with you forever. Good thing is that I still got another 15 year old Chihuahua who was the sister to the deceased Chihuahua as well as having 2 other puppy dog.

To avoid bladder stones feed wet food, especially in the winter when they are less likely to drink water throughout the day. It will help keep the water up in them. When we had a outside cat would would give her a can a day when it started to get cold as well as her kibble. I’m glad you took him in and were able to find out more about him.

Its not a wet/dry food situation its a diet issue, if your Vet says to use a prescription diet then follow that, I thought if i fed my cat a high quality canned diet after his first stone that was marketed to promote urinary health he would be fine, 6 months after i did that he developed a second bladder stone the size of an almond.
@ellicooper2323
@ellicooper2323 2 жыл бұрын
@@a6am3mn0n There is something that even canned cat food sometimes contain. I can’t remember what now. My sister had a beloved Siamese boy. The first time he got bladder stones the doctor advised wet cat food only. That lasted until he began to eat other dry foods, ie dropped crackers,potato chips, etc. another dr visit. The third he had to have part of his urethra removed. The fourth time, not only have another section removed, the doctor had to reposition the penis. The look on that poor cat’s face the first time he used his new equipment was hilarious. He humped his back, looked down and stared at himself for the longest time and looked at us as if to say, “What The F Happened???” The fifth time he snuck dry food, we had to put him down. He wouldn’t learn, of course, and we had too many other cats and dogs to keep a close enough eye on him. Locking him in the bathroom while the others ate didn’t work. I think he bribed them to save and hide some of his favorite treats. Maybe it was something else entirely that was causing his distress. This was about 60 years ago.
@animehuntress9018
@animehuntress9018 2 жыл бұрын
The reason they are recommending wet food is cats don't always know when to drink water. Wet food replicates the hunting and helps keep them hydrated. You can ask vets about it but if you do a recommend asking vets from a smaller practice, bigger vet practices often have partnerships with name brand pet companies. This isn't a conspiracy or anything it's just a smart business practice, but it does put vets in those larger practices in a rough spot. Domesticated cats come from desert cats which got most of their hydration from prey, so drinking isn't hardwired into domesticated cats. It's always good to add moisture to kibble food even if its only water, for both dogs and cats. Kibble was invented during WWII, so its FAR from natural for our pets and they've had less then a hundred years to adapt to it. If you don't want to add wet food, then adding water to the kibble is your second best choice!

Man, I started tearing up. About 4 years ago my cat Zoe got diagnosed with kidney disease. She started to go downhill after a year and a half. One day I found bloody splotches on her bed and over our counter where she would sit. I was a wreck. It’s amazing how much our pets become a part of our lives. She ended up getting put down a year and a half ago, in my arms, humming one of our favorite lord Huron songs “the night we met”. I miss her so much. She was a happy cat and loved from the moment I got her to the moment she went to sleep in my arms.

I'd +1000 wet food, the problem with urinary specific kibble is you have to stay ontop of it cause of how the urine can swing between acid or basic. Also need to super crack down on him getting into Tobbies food, dog kibble is really not good for a cats urinary system, and bladder/kidney problems can turn deadly in cats sooo scarily fast.

Yes I so agree. Once they get one I believe they are prone to more. Urinary track food did the trick. Highly recommend it. God bless. 👽

Getting off the dry food is a good plan. Not only are there issues with their urinary tract but diabetes can become a big problem later in life as cats aren't designed for all these carb laden meals! As he gets older he may start relying more and more on the pet food so switching early would be a good move.
@VARY78
@VARY78 2 жыл бұрын
The only acceptable urinary kibble is the Farmina urinary formula. It has great ingredients and they add extra things to the kibble like chamomile, cranberry, and there are special enzymes to help acidify the urine and break down the crystals. The other foods like Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin, Purina, Iams are disgusting and full of carbs, byproducts, and other cancer causing ingredients. The only thing special about them is they are low ash. You can honestly feed a lot of regular pet foods that are also low ash. Vet diets are all a scam in general. But anyways, you shouldn't feed kibble to a cat regardless. It's really bad for teeth and mostly indigestible since there's a lot of carbs and other plant material plus the fact it's so dry is exactly what causes urinary diseases and kidney stones. They can't dilute the minerals in the bladder and kidneys so they build up and form crystals and stones. Cats wait till they're around 8% dehydrated to drink in the first place. Their natural diet is 70% moisture and they should get 70% wet/raw or just all be that. Kibble is awful.

Dry is great for the teeth. But, with males particularly, they need the wet, too. I had a male who finally couldn't eat anything but wet, which was tricky because he had siblings who ate the dry. Moral of the story: Cats should get both. But, some males will not be able to tolerate the dry at all, especially as they age. I've had a lot of cats. Love them. And, I feel for Morgan. He's doing everything he can for Pablo.
@VARY78
@VARY78 2 жыл бұрын
@@25centsworth You're making a lot of incorrect claims here. It's a common misconception but dry is NOT good for teeth in any way. It's very bad for teeth actually. Cats lack an enzyme called Amylase which breaks down carbs (we have this and it's why if you held a cracker in your mouth you'd notice it starts breaking down and tasting different.) This causes the carbs to stick to their teeth and build up into plaque and tartar. I couldn't even see how it would help their teeth even if that wasn't the case anyways.. Kibble is awful. Besides rotting teeth, it's highly processed making it hard to digest and it's cooked at high temperatures which destroys a lot of nutritional value which forces pet food companies to add synthetic vitamins to the food. A cat's natural diet is 70% moisture and they wait till they're 8% dehydrated to even drink water. It would take them over 2,000 laps of water to drink a single cup. They flick water into their mouth and don't scoop it like a dog. So you can see how it's important to feed a canned/raw diet. Cats need to eat their hydration!

The vulnerability you showed and the fact you didn't cut out the parts where you broke down is truly inspiring and really helpful to others going through this. Also just because your a farmer who hunts and raises his own animals for food doesn't mean that you care about your animals any less then someone who may be against all those things, which i think is a huge misconception toward the farming community so I just want to say thank you again for helping show people that.

Hey Morgan! As someone who had an elderly cat with a heart murmur, I want to say it was not too bad. He had to be on medication until the end of his life, but it did not overall affect him and he was still very comfortable and active. We had to be careful with how active he was because too much activity would cause syncope episodes, but otherwise it was fine. He passed at age 17, and this was three and a half years after his diagnosis of a Grade iii heart murmur. The top grade is iv, which is the worse- so he did pretty darn well. You definitely have Pablo for at least a few more years.

@@tilly28569 that’s great to help prevent kidney (renal) failure, but doesn’t help as much with cats that already have failing kidneys. Their kidneys can only handle a certain amount of fluids.
