At my workplace sometimes we glue stones to metal to make seats for them, and then when we have finished we soak the stones gently in acetone for a while which dissolves the glue with no heating required. Depending on the stone of course as we wouldn't do this with every stone. We also super glue some pieces(earrings/pendants mostly) to blocks of wood for setting rather than always using the GRS thermoloc or other things like setters wax etc, works well and then we soak in acetone when finished to dissolve the glue.

Ha ha Diamond Mounter ! Don't worry I was coughing all the way through it as well they teach us they way you say it should be done in collage here in Australia as well. That torch he has is called an Orca that was one of the first we were shown to use for soldering it's possible to use but it can be painful to use for small works but not impossible

I'd take it with a grain of salt. He couldn't even make it in the industry, he makes his $ off videos criticizing jewelers currently making million dollar projects, no one would trust this guy with diamonds like Pablo or Bobby make

Yes you can size a ring with a laser but in the case of assembly you are right. Great for tacking but you need to come behind with solder.

Pablo did some Jura training, so he should be top at the stone setting.

Hey bro thanks for another review video. I can’t speak to the effect of laser welders but I know pulse ark welders don’t have any other value except for maybe tacking. They do make a good joint for chain links that I’ve tested. But that’s about it. When I bought it I was under the impression it did a lot more. But it is an extremely useful tool if you have a 6000$ laying around lol Jus sayin

No I just quit my job and moved here. Worked in a supermarket and taught English for 18 months until the youtube channel and patreons was enough to go full time

Why the concern about "waste"? I figured he collects all the extra and re-melts it for the next piece.
@christineharvey71673 ай бұрын
Absolutely
@robpetri59964 ай бұрын
Just a question. You talk about waste a lot. However if you have a bunch of wasted gold clippings, don't you just melt them in for the next project? So not waste? (I know nothing, just curious)
@DiamondMounter4 ай бұрын
Yes true it can all be re melted but often those small lengths of wire or small bits of metal can be useful for repairs, re sizing jobs etc. Also it takes longer to mill out a bigger chunk of metal so wastes time

This channel scams you out of your money. I bought a subscription for o get a full tutorial and was informed after I paid that I had to go to Patreon. No rectification of this has occurred yet a continuation of billing

@Jessie-m6j he's been all about money for years now. When I first started learning he became like that. What's a joke is how he thinks he has right to criticize people like Pablo or Bobby white. This guy is washed up and couldn't make it in the industry, he'll, even I'm starting to catch up with this channel. That says a ton, cause I'm amature AF

Your are so wrong about laser welders! You can make very nice deep welds on any alloy, "seamless" ring sizing, earpost, chains..... All you need is a powerfull machine (100j minimum) and some practice.. Ah, also, 10/15k dollars, you were right about his part, but it's so much worth it IMO.. Laser welders have a bad reputation because many are not powerfull enough (especially on silver) or because the welder settings weren't high enough. Also, with some (a lot) of practice and settings tune up, you can make "shiny" and smooth welds, I often use the laser to smooth out 3d printed castings details, it's really good on platinum! Also to fix porosity, or if you make a mistake setting... It will never replace good old solder and torch.. but it makes my daily job so much easier and faster!

Here you are again, criticizing another of the most talented jewelers on youtube, saying you woule be upset if they worked for you. You washed out of the industry and dont have a business good enough to pay for youtube ad free. Seriously, ive learned more from pablo cimadevilla and bobby white then ive ever learned from your channel. And they arnt trying to convince people to buy their videos
