It's beautiful. I'm jealous because outdoor I can only grow small species of frost hardy Echinocereus, Escobaria, Pediocactus and Opuntia.

where do you get them from? is illegal to get them from baja california and these are like 200 year old clearly you do not grow them

This is planted in someone's yard in my neighborhood at a home that is 80 years old and as these cacti are very fast growing when given ample water it is entirely possible that this plant was grown from seed in this location during that time span. And these cacti are mass produced via seed in San Diego County. I planted one in my Richmond nursery that was 3' tall in 2007 and now is 9' tall.

Thanks for the answer, but what about the ones you say you can get for someone under "special order" im from baja and i am concerned about people exploiting that beautiful habitat. @@ScaryHairyGary

@@AacisStudio These plants are grown by the tens of thousands in San Diego County. There is no need whatsoever to plunder the native habitat.

Yes, they are out there in private gardens that can be procured If the funds are behind it. Just a matter of budget and logistics.
