Hi Julia. Thanks for sharing your trip with all of us. With so many problems in the world right now your posts are a great escape and a place we can turn to to for some connection to what’s beautiful in the world. Like you, we love the outdoors and nature. We are retired seniors, and you actually inspired us to beef up our hiking. We live in Southern California and my husband and I decided to climb Mt. San Jacinto. We did take the tram up, but at 65 and 71 we felt very victorious in doing it. The view from the top was just spectacular and we were fortunate enough to have a clear day. We saw several others at the top who were so friendly and warm to us. I think hikers are some of the nicest people. Maybe because we all share a love and respect for nature. Who knows. But in these troubled times, it’s a very refreshing escape. And so are your posts. You somehow manage to remain positive an optimistic even when confronting challenges. I was especially fond of this post, showing the carnage of the fire but the promise of new life springing up. A great reminder to us that beautiful things can emerge from devastation. Thanks for the much needed inspiration.

Thank you so much for your nice comment 😁👍🏻 there is always hope and I always try to be positive, no matter what. It makes life much easier 😁 congratulations on your San Jacinto adventure 💪🏻😎 Hikers have all the same goal of reaching either Canada, the next town, the next state, etc. It‘s an invisible bond 🤩

Interesting account of being "attacked" by a hawk, Julia! Reminds me of what I encountered in Luxembourg some 40 years ago. I headed out for an early morning jog of about 10 kms when -- not knowing the area at all -- I chugged up a hill of about 2 kms in length. About halfway up, I felt and heard a whoosh go by my head and upon looking up, there was some sort of raptor. No doubt protecting its nest. Well, I did the best I could motoring up that hill and eventually, after about 2 passes, the hawk left me alone. The only problem was, I had to get back the same way I came, which invited another visit by the hawk. But this time, I was moving downhill so I could get out of the "attack" zone that much faster! I have followed your story through to the end and rue the wildfire situation, and sincerely hope you have plans to return to finish the PCT in its entirety. Mach's gut!

Looks like you had a bit of the Luck of the Irish with the Trail Magic. AND 1300 Miles! It's wonderful that people provide these free 'pop-up cafes' for you hikers.

I follow a handful of PCT hikers and almost every one has referred to feelings of sadness at the burnzones. And where I understand this it does not chime with how I feel about them. Fire is as natural as water and centuries are mere minutes to our mother earth. So I was very pleased to see you pan down to the new little plant coming through the ashes. Nicely done 'Lifesaver'. What an amazing contrast between new life and death in the burn area. The people who provide food and drink along the trail are wonderful and kind souls.

Mark, thank you again for the trail magic at cabin creek and then the ride the next morning from I-5 into Mount Shasta 😁🤩 you are an amazing trail angel and an awesome person. I will remember your words to me: Do something good on trail and think of me! 🤩 We‘re gonna try to catch the bus tomorrow morning to head back on trail. Maybe we‘ll see you around there 😁

Congrats on 1300. You should be at the midway point in the next episode or the one after. What a huge accomplishment! How great it will feel once you are done with the burn zone to get a good shower and wash everything. I wonder if drakesbad in Lassen is open. They have a small restaurant snd serve hikers outside. Snd have lodging too. Hard to find places to shower on this stretch. There is a church near burney falls that services hikers and has camping, showers snd laundry. Just have to catch a ride snd let them know you are coming just to make sure they can accommodate you.

Thank you 😁 it was impossible to stay clean on this stretch 🫣 but I made it through 💪🏻😎

You always manage to make me smile with some of your commentary. That's rough climbing uphill for 17 miles but you managed to find the good. It always amuses me to see the " junk food" hikers love to eat....can't blame you.

Love your videos but on days 103&104 you need to fix you settings . Every thing is glowing. Almost like I e your in a negative picture . Best of luck to you . Can't wait to see you make it to the Canada.
@juliasadventurevlog2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I checked all the videos but couldn’t see any glowing. It might be from the sun, which has been very bright lately in my videos. Sorry about that, I will try to change it during my talking 😅

You can now laugh but the fire hoses were abandoned when the fire got too close to the firefighters. You crossed another logging road, you are kind of on private property.
